Decided to stop by and try this place for brunch. Let's start with the service. Right from the start the host greeted us with an amazingly welcoming energy and she happened to also serve our table, and did a brilliant job. I love Egg Bennies for breakfast and naturally decided on the Lox and Cream Cheese Benny. I asked for it to be prepared a certain way and that's exactly how it came. What really impressed me was the lox was fresh....yes! fresh! Rarely have I seen fresh lox used in breakfast items, and it was amazing. Makes such a huge difference. The Hollandaise was made beautifully different than the traditional. It had a hint of dijon with a cream base and sprinkles of spring onion. Honestly, this might sound cheesy, but the benny was put together like someone was painting their own little canvas. Every single ingredient was very delicately and carefully calculated and integrated with the rest. It had all my favourites: lox, cream cheese, red onion and spring onion, as well as capers. It tasted absolutely amazing! Even the tater tots were fresh. What else impressed me was the vibe, style and class of the place. It didn't feel like you were eating at a restaurant. It felt more like you were at someone's home who invited you to sit, enjoy their view while they make you something to eat. I loved that it was very non-commercial and very much personal. The extra effort, attention to detail and care you saw and felt constantly. Their coffee was also very good, served very tastefully. Looking forward to going back!
Stopped in for a late drink and bite to eat. Loved the fact that it’s almost October and you could still dine outside under the stars. Gorgeous views of the water, Burrard bridge and Grandville Island. Service was friendly and efficient. It was a Monday evening so not that busy. Ordered the Seafood Chowder which was a decent sized bowl of creamy goodness. Also had the prawn tacos. You got two tacos, and the shrimps were diced up with other vegetables. They too were delicious. Overall we had a great experience and will be returning to try other menu items on our next visit to Vancouver!
Talk about location Right along the water, bikers and walkers going by, watch the boats pull in etc. Friendly service, good food. Most of the indoor seating is high tops which may not be everyones fave which is one of the reasons I usually sit outside. Parking: No specific parking allocated, but pay parking on surrounding streets, then you'll need to walk.
We have ordered some food there and so far it has been ok, nothing great; however the view is nice, as well the staff and it's close to where we live. In the picture: That's their version of a calamari appetizer... $16 bucks or so and lots of Serrano pepper for my taste & I am MexiCanadian!...Food: 3/5
Went here because i was told the patio is dog friendly! Didn't have high expectations but they had Delicious food!!
Great little seawall bar with wonderful staff. I enjoyed my bacon cheese burger and ceaser salad. Quite yummy. I do find the drink prices a bit steep. It's $7 for a single vodka. Wine is $15/glass. You will get better value buying a bottle for $40. Grab a spot on the patio when the nice weather returns!
This Hickory BBQ Burger has to be the best hamburger that I can remember tasting.. it was absolutely delicious, what a wonderful creative taste and the rest of the meal was very memorable, the Happy Hour Hummus and the great tasting craft beer..the staff are very friendly and helpful..the discussion of the Hickory BBQ richness in flavour was essential in helping us make our dining selection..and here we were in the early evening with the Burrard Street Bridge with glowing colours and Granville Island in view with the various marine vehicles in such close proximity made our meal that much more special…our current time here at this cafe was a less quality experience, the clam chowder was tasteless and the bun on the hamburger was quite soggy…hopefully next time we will have a happier time exploring this great cafe by the water… the service was very good as usual..
Have visited this restaurant on 5 occasions while walking to or from English Bay. 1 Food experience on all occasions was mediocre, small portions for the prices charged. 2 Service very, very poor on last 3 visits. On 2 of these, once waitress took order, never saw her again. She totally ignored despite serving tables around me = 1% tip; hostess delivered food & bill. The place was not busy. On the 1st visit the waitress was excellent above & beyond= 40% tip. On this occasion it was very busy & she was great with all tables on her section but have never seen her again. Recommendation = waterside view is nice but otherwise definitely skip this place.
I have only had beers here. The beers are nice. They now sell a good Belgian Wheat beer which I enjoyed. Apologies, can't recall the name. The place is nice and staff are friendly. Good place to kill quality time while watching people go by and boats crossing under Granville Island bridge.
Used to come here when it was the Pirate Pub and the food was not memorable. Just stopped by while on a bike ride and was blown away by how good it was. We started with calamari, which was served in strips not my favorite but it was perfectly cooked and mixed with salad including pickled onions and fried jalapeños and chickpeas. Super delicious! Then I had the seafood club, and it was a pretty hefty portion. The seafood was great, as was the toasted sourdough. Fries were thin and crispy just how I like them. On my next bike ride I will definitely stop and order the same thing!
