Baymont by Wyndham Elkhart

Upon arrival ,the manager charged us a $100 cash deposit "in case something is smoked in the room". We informed him that this was not listed on the booking website. He then lied to us and stated that it was on there until we pulled it up on our phone and put it right in his face. Then he changed it to some other story or reason and forced us to put up the extra $100 stating that if we cancel our reservation, we would still be charged the $240 room cost. After that grief ( discrimination) we got to the room to find it dirty and dingy, as well as found that the shower handle falls right off in your hand. The fridge smelled like something died in it and the water pressure and temp. were garbage. Upon check out this morning, we find that ours was the ONLY envelope in the drawer for people having to pay their supposed "smoking deposit" which lead me to believe that the manager was just being rude and discriminatory. I do not recommend Baymont Inn of Elkhart. Go to Super 8 instead. It is right in the same price range.

The room, bathroom and bed were clean...BUT, as I was checking into the hotel, a customer came back down to the desk and reported that the room he was assigned too, already had someone in it! I didn’t think anything of it until a few hours into my stay, while in my room laying in the bed, I hear my room door open and people with their bags start to come inside! They too were assigned a room that was already occupied...I was the occupant!! Now, if my door had a lock on it, I would have locked the door behind me as I do in any hotel stay and they wouldn’t have gotten in the room at all. Upon staying in my room a few hours, before the other guest showed up, the phone rang and I pick it up and say “hello?” and whoever it was hung up without saying anything or what the call was about. Also, there is also a required $100 room deposit incase there are any damages along with the charge of the room. Now if you don’t have room damage you get the $100 back at check out. So, just be prepared while staying here. It seems like the really don’t know what their doing behind at this establishment. My key cards also wouldn’t work at my door so they had a man walk me to my room door and show him that the cards wouldn’t work, then opened the door with another card he had in his hand. I probably won’t be back to this hotel.

Horrible front desk. Charged me for smoking in the room, and we never have!! There was even a marijuana filled Smokey hallways . So, I got charged? Argued with the front desk girl . Have never ever been so disrespected in my life !

Very good location off the high way making it super convenient for one night on the way somewhere. We were heading to MD and stayed there for the night. It was clean and tidy. Good customer service and friendly staff.

Decent price and looks great when you walk in but customer service once you have a room is lacking
