Story

Basil & Mint Restaurant and Bar is bringing simplicity and freshness to our West Coast Contemporary Cuisine, in a modern and vibrant environment. Chef McGeown’s menu is inspired by the fresh ingredients grown and sourced locally in British Columbia. We aim to deliver to our customers an unique dining experience by taking you on a culinary journey, giving you beautiful dishes, matched with our outstanding and meticulously selected wines from around the Okanagan, and around the world.

We have created the perfect blend of comfortable and contemporary ambience, without any of the pretentious vibes. At Basil and Mint, we stride to provide a complete dining experience to our guests. We went to Basil and Mint the other night for dinner after hearing fellow locals rave about it. We were seated by our sever, Terry, who was fantastic from start to end. He was very friendly, helpful and tentative. We ordered the lobster ravioli as an appetizer, what can I say, we were not disappointed! The lobster was perfectly done and tasted like it was caught that day. The sauce was incredible in it's complexity and paired perfectly with the local wine. For our mains I opted for the wild caught prawns while my partner had the ahi seared tuna. Oh my god, my prawns were so juicy (again tasted like they were caught that day!) I can't even begin to describe how delicious it all was. The sauce was perfectly balanced, with a light taste of the tequila flambe. I shared a few bites of my partners meal which was equally amazing. After everything being so wonderful, we decided to go for dessert as well. The chocolate mousse was light and scrumptious, we had it with the 20 year old port which was heavenly. To top it all off, the manager, Chris, came out and we had a lovely conversation. The entire experience was sensational, we will definitely be back!!

We ordered pizzas to go one evening. The fresh ingredients and tastes were amazing! We ate in another night (not pizza), and it was so good. The fresh ingredients make the food so much better than any chain restaurant. There's really no comparison. It's a nice quiet location in the winter months. We'd love to return in the summer and enjoy the patio!

A great spot for casual dinner. They have a nice wine list, great fresh food and the appetizer plates a perfect for a sharing. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

I have eaten at the restaurant twice and both times it was disgusting. The meals taste like they have been previously frozen. Way over priced for the quality It was very disorganized and nothing seemed fresh.

This is the forth time I have eaten here and am sad to say things are going downhill. Shortly after being seated our server tells us what the dinner specials are apparently unaware that we have not received menus, nor had our drink orders been taken. So this gets sorted out, we get our drinks, order our appys and meals. about 45 minutes later I ask our server what is taking so long. She replies "I see your soups are up, just waiting on a couple appies." 15 minutes later our appies arrived. Hello? Soup was kind of warm while the spoon and bowl were quite hot. Very unprofessional to leave food under heat lamp that long, don't you think? My mother in law and I both ordered the rib steak special, hers medium and mine rare. Both were medium rare. A careless chef or one who could care less, which is it? I am very disappointed in my forth time here (third time wasn't so good either) and there will not be a fifth.
