We are a non profit charitable organization providing emergency food to those in need.

Story

The Barrie Food Bank provides temporary food relief to vulnerable individuals and families in our community and serves as a resource to guide them along the road to self sufficiency.
We collect food donations throughout the year and with a team of 100 volunteers we are able to distribute this food to almost 24,000 individuals annually.

Wow. I am extremely impressed by the speed of which the process went. Even with a full building everything moved along smoothly and was super accessible.nThe staff is beyond friendly which is a breath of fresh air. It’s getting a bit better but still need to work on a lot of things here for sure the wait times lines and having people standing in the cold with children, turning purple, you don’t end up with much and they are very picky about what you can have and won’t give out any extras whatsoever not even providing proper diet needs although they will ask and put it on your file. It won’t matter if you need it or if it’s on your file that you’re hypoglycaemic they will still take any sugar snacks you might want if you’re over 18, not a student, or a parent with children under the age of 18. It’s lovely asking for some juice to be given 1 juice box out of a pack of 6 .. yes they opened a pack of 6 juice boxes and gave me 1 when I mentioned I needed sugar of any kind even some juice.. it was a joke when I was looking at over 200 juice packs ..
