Barrhaven Barbers

This is a great, no-frills barber shop. The barbers are excellent, efficient, and professional and the prices are great. Be aware they only accept cash or debit, but have a cash machine in the shop.

I initially rated this place a 5 when I first started going here several years ago, but at this point I have had so many legitimately bad haircuts here that I decided to update my rating and never go again. Six of the different barbers here have cut my hair and only 1 of them has never given me a bad cut. During the pandemic I switched to a #2 buzz cut for ease and 3/6 barbers here mess it up EVERY TIME. Major issues that their cuts often have: 1. Uneven length/"bumpy" buzz cut 2. Not cutting the length you ask for 3. Asymmetrical lines on each side of your head 4. Not blended well if you get a scissor cut 5. Stray missed hairs around ears, etc. Just a few examples of bad experiences I had there: 1. Barber walked out of my haircut for about 10 minutes to talk to someone that had pulled up in a car out front. Never asked if that would be okay before leaving and never said a word about it when they came back. Really weird and awkward having to sit in the chair and watch this play out with your hair half cut, you feel a bit hostage. 2. There is indeed a young kid who cuts hair there. As other reviews mention, that kid has a lot to learn to get better skills, but in my opinion it's not fair that paying customers should be his practice. 3. Multiple times I have had an uneven / wrong length / badly blended cut, but when you point it out the "fix" ends up being even worse, sometimes comically horrible. They've never managed to successfully salvage a cut where something has gone wrong. 4. One of the ladies seems to not know what she is doing at all and seems very hesitant in her cuts. I asked for a #2 buzz and she did a "considering comb" like another reviewer mentioned for a short buzz?!? and seemed afraid to touch the clippers to my head. I believe that reviewer's post 100% because I experienced many of the same things during my cut, but it's crazy to think that she has been cutting hair there for YEARS, because i actually thought my haircut was legitimately the first one she was ever doing. In the end the cut I received barely resembled a buzz and was easily the most uneven and worst cut of my life. She seemed unable to fix it, and eventually I just gave up and went home. I have no idea why I gave this place so many chances. For the last few months every time I said I was going for a haircut my wife would say, "NOT Barrhaven Barbers, I'm just going to have to fix it again", and she was totally right. She actually has had to fix several failed buzz cut attempts from this shop, and has done a much better job having watched 3 YouTube videos about it. My wife is not a barber, she should not produce a better product than a barber shop that you have to pay for. I don't get ANYTHING complicated, these are basic men's cuts that this shop does not have the skills to produce well.

Felt like I was bothering the kids working there by coming in. Fastest hair cut ever though, because he used a large number clipper on 3/4 of my head before taking out the scissors to do the front. Looks alright, maybe a bit short, but I was worried the whole time that I was getting a buzz cut. Not going to visit again.

If you like getting haircuts from a 13-year-old, do not go here... I've been going to Barrhaven Barbers since I was a little kid. this guy named Munir used to cut my hair and i'm not sure if he still owns the place or if he isn't a worker there anymore. I loved getting hair cuts from him. Same with Sam, the older man that still works there I hope, i mean it's been like almost two years since i've been going there regularly. I stopped going to this barber shop because I feel as though over the years, the service has gotten terrible... like they have a THIRTEEN year old cutting hair now??? Like I don't know the full logistics of how one becomes a barber but I feel as though you might need to be older than thirteen to cut hair... just my opinion. The last two times I went to get my hair cut here were not great. I go to Tommy Gunn's now because even though the price is higher, it's just better service. Honestly, it's really worth it. But anyways, I went here back in Fall 2020 and there was this young asian lady not the older asian lady because she's actually the only good barber still there but it just felt like she had no idea what she was doing. I had to point out to her that my haircut was uneven and even when I went home I noticed some strands longer than others by a significant amount... and this is not mentioning the amount of times she glared at my head, and petting my hair with her comb, as if she was figuring out what to do next. This was not the last time I went, however. The last time I went was about a month ago when I wanted to get my haircut at Tommy Gunn's but I forgot to book an appointment like an Idiot but I decided to go here because I was at Fallowfield station and i thought well... this is gonna be a gamble but let's go. Surprise surprise, I got the same lady that cut my hair a year and a half ago. I honestly thought to myself she's still here??? But I gave her the benefit of the doubt and said well, maybe she's gotten better since I last saw her. I thought too highly of her... she did the same obsessive combing, same puzzled look, same noticeable uneven cutting... It's just unacceptable to have service like this. having people not able to properly cut hair be hired for low prices like this. but I guess you get what you pay for right? Not to mention the thrteen year-old working there. Oh wait I already mentioned that because why dude... just why??? Anyways rant over. TL;DR go to Tommy Gunn's because unlike these guys, they actually know how to cut hair... just sayin'

If your needs are not fancy, then this one has very reasonable prices and good service. Cash n Debit only.

Really good place for haircut esp Nancy who had tons of experience and excellent. The rest of the hair stylists i cannot vouch for. Go at your own risk if you see someone besides Nancy.

Very disappointed with my haircut. The barber was in so much rush and did not even do the fading right. After the haircut, I was checking the cut and suggesting here to trim sides well. Very unprofessional. Please don’t try this barbershop.

Really not a good barbershop. Had the older gentleman cut my hair. Told him I wanted a fade and ended up with buzz cut on the sides and the sides weren’t even. Maybe the other barbers are fine but i really would avoid this place

Been going there since it opened, great service. Definitely my go-to barber.
