I was very surprised with this place. When we walked in we thought for sure it was gonna be lame and a bunch of weirdos there. We went the first night and it was fine and the drinks were cheap and it was an all around good time with no problems. The second night was New Years Eve. We bought our tickets an hour prior online so we expected it to be lame since they were still selling tickets so close to the doors opening. We did not wait in a line to get in which was a blessing because it was so cold. The place was pretty busy, but just the perfect amount, just right between too busy and not busy enough. The thing I loved most about this place is the customer service. When you check your coat they give you a ticket to retrieve it, which my girlfriend lost. Most other places would have told us to piss off and taken her coat, but the staff all the way from the coat check girl, to the bouncer, to the manager were all friendly and extremely helpful. The bartenders are also very friendly which is also pretty rare for a place like this. The music is okay, the venue is decent, and the crowd is very young but the drinks are cheap and the staff is great for a club of this nature so 5/5 in my book.

You know what you're getting with bar244. It's not the nicest place, and it's not the best crowd, but I still find myself coming back again and again. Bar244 serves it's purpose as being a cheap bar, so if you want cheap drinks go there. If you're looking for a nice ambiance or a good crowd find another place.

3 stars to leave room for the venues that go that extra step above and beyond. Excellent spot, drinks are a bit weak ($3 what can you expect) Lost a star for the drinks, would have been a 4 otherwise. I have just moved to Toronto and I am giving each location a chance. The lower floor is where the brunt of the action takes place. 2 divided dance floors which was quite spacious actually even compared to Uniun Nightclub that I have been to twice now. I will be returning for sure. If the drinks get stronger, I can consider updating my review to 4 stars. But all in all. great location, packed when I went on a weekend. Friday & Saturday is packed. Good crowd, relaxed bouncers. I had a good time.

Very busy but good music and great prices for drinks. This has been my second visit and I will come back again.

An average location, I thought it was really small with a wide mix of top 40 jams. Only good if you're with a group of friends trying to dance or have drinks.
