Bar Le Mal Nécessaire

Pineapples are the sign of hospitality, and at Bar Le Mal Nècessaire, they are everywhere! Had a really delicious aviation there. I will have to be back to try more of their cocktail list. It was incredibly impressive. 🍍🍍

Went there on Saturday, September 16th at around 10 pm. I hadn't been there in a few months and thought I could just go down the stairs and wait to be assigned a seat as usual but then the new bouncer (tall, slim, short dark hair and bearded) grabbed my arm (first of all, why are you touching me?) and rudely told me there was a line of people but it wasn't obvious because it looked like people were smoking outside. Then he proceeded to disrespectfully ask other people "how could you not see other people waiting?" and laughed. It seemed that he was trying to be funny but nobody laughed but himself. When I politely told him that I thought we could just go straight the stairs and be assigned a seat there, he condescending told me "yeah because people are just chilling on the side walk". Well duh, there's people smoking there. I usually love the staff and everything about this bar but as soon as I embarrassed that way, my group and I were completely disgusted by this bouncer and went to another bar instead and we will not return. It was a very uncomfortable situation. He definitely could have handled it better with professionalism instead of trying to be the stand up comedian of the night. I even previously left a great review about this bar in the past but this bouncer needs to be spoken to by a manager. What a shame because I like this place. We ended up going to the Cold Room where we were greeted with a smile and not a condescending douche bag.

J'adore l'ambiance, super chill et posé. C'est plutôt un endroit que tu viens avec 2-3 amis pour discuter autour d'un cocktail très originaux :) lumière tamisée + cocktail dans une noix de coco = 👌👌👌

With drinks like these you can't go wrong. Good tunes and a sort of speak-easy feeling to this hip Tiki joint. Highly recommended

Perfect for dates, great drinks and food service. A bit pricy though
