Story

The seafood experience
Maestro SVP is the number one destination in Montreal for seafood and oysters for close to 25 years.
Did you know that different waters influence the taste and textures of an oyster? At Maestro SVP, you will be guided through a true oyster experience. A fresh and salty start in Nov Scotia or New Brunswick, followed by a tasting a subtle brinier but crisp oyster from Cape Cod to then finish with a creamier and sweeter Pacific oyster.
On the menu, you will find fresh fish, mussels and not to forget the impressive hot and cold seafood platters. King crab, scallops, shrimps and calamari are also favourites on the menu. And for the meat lovers, lets not forget a melt in your mouth filet mignon.
Founded in 1982 by owner Ilene Polansky, first located on Masson Street in Rosemount and for the last 21 years located on St-Laurent Boulevard

Went there after craving some real fresh seafood. Seafood was fresh as It could get, bread and butter were warm and soft, salmon tar tar was well seasoned, and their happy hour oyster platter was well-portioned and well-paired with delicious condiments. Atmosphere was warm, cozy and welcoming with the waiter Handres' exceptional customer service. Some people said they found the place a bit pricey, but i felt the price was deserving after the exceptional service and the quality of food. Will come back when I visit Montreal next.

A cosy place with a great choice of seafood and wines. Waiters are very helpful and nice. Please do yourself a favour and end your delicious meal with a Red Velvet chocolate cake. Priceless in good company.

Fabulous! Had the seafood platter for two and dessert trio. It was a good thing for us that it was a very chilly evening and we had a bit of a walk to get back to our hotel, because we practically had to be rolled out of there. We enjoyed every bite. Of the sauces that came with the platter, the garlic butter and lemon butter were the best. The seafood was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The dessert trio consist of three small in size (but not small in flavor) apple pie, crème brûlée and très lèche cake and a tiny pitcher of warm caramel. Every bite! Everything was delicious and the service impeccable. Looking forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu.

We had terrible experience here. The manager (or head waiter? owner?) with pony-tailed dark curly hair was rude; we were very upset by his attitude. The foods were tasty, but my mom had food poisoning symptoms from boiled measles with white wine sauce, parmesan risotto and cream pasta with measles. The hygiene at the place must have been bad. I just noticed from another review that they reused left-over butter and sauce (which explains why my mom got sick within a few hours...) I gave one point (star) for the good service from the young male waiter who had blond hair. Overall, I do not recommend this place.
