Bar Bifteck St-Laurent

Usually I wouldn’t leave reviews, especially on establishments like bars however this place is horrendous. The staff were good, however the management was brutal. It’s cash only, and groups of very young looking girls and boys will come in be sat and served without being ID’d This would be fine I suppose if the owner himself wasn’t hitting on and hovering around these young girls. The owner of this establishment is getting uncomfortably close with people who are potentially minors. I will not be returning. And I recommend that you don’t either.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The waitstaff seemed lovely but a man who I was told was the owner was very creepily eying and getting personal and up close to groups of young girls. The atmosphere could have been fun if there wasn’t an old man praying on young, tipsy customers.

This place reminds me of a Greece, really cool staff, the drinks are worth it and for a affordable price

I imagine few influencers or members of the club-going crowd would give this classic dive five stars, but their vote doesn't count. This laid-back bar with two pool tables, a bar, and maybe enough room for 50 regulars has not changed much over the last 25 years. And that's what's great about it. Some things do stay the same! A great hangout without the bright lights, pulsing dance music, and pretentious preeners. Cheap beer and stale popcorn for all!

Still the same place as 25+ years ago. Brings back memories from university...

I left town 25 years ago, and happy to see Bifteck is still going and has not changed much except for the patio added out front. It's a Montreal institution. I was probably the first black dude to hang out there. Met Melissa Auf der Maur of Hole the band there. Only great memories.

Beer is cheap and the patio is nice. Bartender was rude to basically everyone. She was slow and demanded a larger tip than 3$ on a 14$ pitcher after literally taking 5 minutes to pour it and move it 2 feet to where we were standing. She proceeded to yell in front of the whole bar shaming us. Worth mentioning also we were generous earlier and gave a 20$ bill on a 14$ pitcher and did not ask for change, and she showed zero gratitude.

I feel sorry for the bartenders and employees at this place. There was no issue with their work. The owner/manager was there when I came to get a drink with a friend. He was obnoxious, he was creepy, he honestly ruined the experience. I can only assume what working conditions he puts his staff through. We won't be going back and I hope the staff has the opportunity to leave that place asap. This type of behaviour by bar owners is wayyyy too normal in MTL.

I was there last night. After a bit of wait at the entrance due to covid related measures I found myself in a bar with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. The beer was cheap and its quality was more than correct. Be aware that you can only pay in cash! Overall I enjoyed my time there, I'll surely go back.

Drinks were great and at good price. Unfortunately the waitress with the fairy costume had a pickle in her a**. She wasn’t polite and demanded a tip immediately after I got my bill. I was planning on ordering more drinks and tipping the full amount at the end, which I told her I would do. When we got up to leave, and give her the tip we promised we would give her. She screamed « thanks for the tips!!! » in a very sarcastic way. Quick reminder that tips are earned, not a given.
