Avis Car Rental

Absolutely brutal customer service. I had called to reserve a vehicle and was quoted a price. Unfortunately the call got cut off which happens so I called back. I explained the what had happened to the agent who had picked up and when they quoted me the price it was $200 more than the previous quote I received 5 mins ago. I told them that it didn't make sense and all they said was 'oh well' that is the new rate. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said No and hung up. I will never rent from this company. Enterprise got my business and they gave me cheaper price and a bigger car.

The car I rented was pretty good, nice and clean. However I feel like I was scammed out of $38/day. Avis entices you to prepay by offering you a discount and then tells once you arrive to pickup the car, that because you prepaid, your credit card insurance won't cover the vehicle. So then you're stuck paying their rediculos charge of $38 PER DAY on top of the rental for their insurance. I don't believe that was accurate but who am I to argue when I am in a foreign place and in need of a car to get to my destination. I feel like the staff get commission for pushing their insurance.

thieves! I rented a car from them on september 12, 2017 for $66 for one day, but took from my visa card $130. i keep calling and left a voice mail but no answer at all.

On November 15th my flight out of Toronto to St. John's due to arrive at just after 1am was delayed and did not arrive in St. John's till 2:20am. Kelly, whom I had spoken to earlier in the evening confirmed that they were open until 2am. Kelly, recognizing that our flight was delayed stayed around and ensured that myself and another passenger got our rental cars when we landed. She made a decision to stay and it made the difference between making my 8am meeting the next day or not. I am very grateful for Kelly going above and beyond at 2am in the morning. Avis has a good employee in Kelly. Incidentally, I spoke to someone else the following day about this and they confirmed that they had a similar situation and Kelly at Avis went above and beyond for them as well. As an Avis Preferred member, I am very pleased.
