The room was quaint as expected - but to pay for a room with a “big king bed” and it’s two mattresses pushed together is very deceptive and not comfortable for a couple. This is like saying two computer chairs pushed together is a love seat... the location was beautiful and staff was friendly but I do feel like I didn’t get what I paid for ... maybe opt for the smaller bed if you stay here. Also we experienced some major temperature fluctuations with the shower. Warm - scalded - then cold for the rest! Suspect it’s correlated to flushing toilets throughout the building . Mixed bag here !

If I could give this place one star I would. Terrible customer service. Horrible beds. Paid for a king and got two twins put together. Most uncomfortable sleep I've ever had with my fiancé. Won't come back to bed bug inn ever again. Felt like a nasty place to stay. Do not recommend at all!

Although the staff is nice and friendly and price per night is low at 108 per night, I would not recommend this place due to the horrible showers. Basically it will fluctuate in temperature very frequently from extremely hot to very cold in a matter of seconds. You don't have to even bother with the faucet in the shower because it does nothing. I was in room 122 so hopefully this was just an isolated issue for that room but I doubt it is. Your better off paying the extra 30 dollars per night and going to the Athabasca hotel it is far nicer and not a whole lot more expensive. The beds are not the most comfortable either. The climate control in the room was relatively useless as well.

We are truly blessed by both of your generosity and kindness. Vivian, went above and beyond for our family, in partnership with Pauline. We certainly recommend this iconic Jasper hotel and challenge other travellers or families to experience the same level of service and satisfaction as we have, at Astoria Hotel Thank you Charles.M

The hotel is outdated and the bathrooms are super small. I had crutches from a snowboarding accident during my stay in Astoria Hotel and coming up and down the stairs in the foyer was terrible lol . They don't have an elevator. The plus side is there's a nice bar just beside the hotel :)
