This review is not about the physicians or professionals working at the clinic, very pleased with them. This review is not about the building or location or hours, they are all fine. This review is not about my new GP, he's great, the lab downstairs is great, the specialist I have seen there is great. The x-ray techs are great. The "one stop" aspect of the clinic is great. The evening walk-in is great. This review is regarding a large number of the receptionists. THEY ARE BRUTAL. Snooty attitude, check. Phony apologies and platitudes, check. Condescending tone towards elderly patients, for sure. Try to leave a voicemail, good luck. Call outside of business hours. Messages will not be returned. Call inside business hours. Still get voicemail. Call on a week day, office closed. Messages will not be returned. Expecting a return call about your voicemail, forget it. Have the nerve to call back a second time. You're brave. Want to hear personal dirt on the other staff, no problem. Think you'll get that appointment letter. Maybe. Fax them and never hear back. Curious about other patients maladies? You'll hear lots. Want to see sloppy and unprofessional work attire. You will. Say you need to reschedule an appointment, wait for the sigh. I'm required to wear a mask at the door, receptionist doesn't. Ask directions, and they don't even look up, just point. I told my GP about it. He apologized and told me that they are not his employees, but employees of the clinic. I have to wonder how many patients have been so turned off by the receptionists that they have chosen other facilities and doctors.
Recently became a new patient of this clinic. Would highly not recommend this place. Firstly the receptionist I was dealing with was incredible rude and non-compromising with understanding of shift work. Secondly the new doctor I was recommended to by the WRHA has zero bedside manner I am a health care provider and know good bedside manner when I see it, I have only met her for our meet and greet which was in June because she was away all of July and now every appointment I try and schedule for my physical she has cancelled on it - it has been a total of 4 cancellations between now and future appointments to have been had in September. The first appointment I was to have with her in august was cancelled only 1 hour before my arrival time.
DR Randhawa is Awesome. I’m so happy with the care she offers my teens and toddler. She is patient and kind when listening to our issues. I was worried about something related to my toddler’s health and she was so caring with the way she wanted to test out the whole thing before medication.eventually I figured out it was behavioural not health. We need care providers like her in community so we feel heard and to navigate the situation without someone minimizing things, even when we as parents assume the worse . Thanks to everyone at the Assiniboine Clinic, receptionists are the kindest people too.
Doctor Famuuide Or whatever her name was, she was kind of rude, like in an aggressive way when putting in my IUD. I was uncomfortable and I asked her to be quiet but she just like yelled at me to open my legs more and push them up and it was really uncomfortable and she was Bad not nice doctor for my first pelvic exam and iud insertion. she acted like she cared, but then she would basically yell and rush me and it was just like she was on her last straw of the day and it felt really bad because I just wanted some comfort and I wanted to feel secure and safe and I wanted someone who is nice and patient and not yelling and Aggressive and rushing! . it wasn’t awesome. quite frankly I don’t want to schedule my check up here because I don’t want to see her I would’ve rather just seen her assistant who was so much nicer. She offered to have the assistant in the room and I should’ve said yes assistant is so much better trust me
Garbage facility and terrible doctors. Got appointment for 12:30… which just so happens to be when they go for lunch!! So I was told to sit and wait… which I proceeded to do until 2:30!!!!! Paying double for parking for nothing. All because I wanted to re fil my inhaler prescription that the doctor doesn’t believe when I say I can’t breathe!! Test after test after test, every month, just to prove I can’t breath. F this place.
The doctor is OK, but the admin staff cannot schedule their way out of a wet paper bag. Not sure what is going on but reading other reviews this seems to be a common theme here. Scheduling appointments during the doctor's lunch breaks, days off, you name it. Prepare to have your appointments chronically rescheduled.
I went to this walk-in clinic to look into an issue that I was concerned about, and the Dr checked my blood pressure but did everything incorrectly when doing so. My feet were dangling off of the table, my arm was hanging down by my side & the reading was taken overtop of my sweater. My reading was extremely high only one reading was taken which I believe was incorrect/much higher than it should have been due to these three errors having been made. Per multiple medical websites and my own family doctor, your feet should be flat on the floor, your arm should be supported & at heart level & the reading should be taken on your bare arm. The first reading is also usually disregarded, as many people have "white coat syndrome" when in a clinical setting resulting in some anxiousness which can also contribute to a higher reading. This is also the first time that I have seen a doctor only take one single blood pressure reading before giving a diagnosis. I have a blood pressure machine at home it is also a highly recommended/reliable brand and so I took my own readings 3 of them that were spaced apart and the readings were as much as 40 points lower than at the clinic..I will be following up with my own doctor on this as I don't think that the reading I was given is very credible given how it was carried out. This was not a good experience & I will not return to this clinic as a result. The only positive experience was dealing with the friendly receptionist...
I'm a senior and was sent to this clinic by the WRHA find a physician program. The doctor I was sent to is quite frequently absent and often for weeks at a time. The clinic doesn't provide another physician to take over appointments and will gladly refer you to the walk in. Which is not a good solution for a patient that, due to trauma, struggles with strangers and unfamiliar surroundings. I'm now having to try to find another doctor which is likely not possible, as no one is taking patients. But on a good note, the walk in will be there on a regular basis and perhaps that's where senior health care is heading. ..
My GP there is great. However, there is no coverage when an MD is away. Don't even think you will able to get a prescription within a few days, even if you are an 84 year old with COVID and may really benefit from Paxlovid. So I guess we go to a walk in and expose others??
The building itself needs some updates. But Dr Horgan and his receptionist Donna - 5 stars.
