A gorgeous restaurant serving a mix of British and Indian cuisine with impressive drink options. The vibe and atmosphere teleports you into a different land. The 1920s London theme got me feeling like I was eating in some restaurant from the Harry Potter world. Food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Family style sharing works best. You can’t go wrong with any lamb dishes here. Chickpea was strikingly good too, perhaps the best I’ve had in Chicago. We enjoyed all our dishes which I’d have no hesitation recommending. For a party of 4, we got: - Naanbread with spreads - Tandoori style chicken with lentils - Chickpea and Potato tikka curry w/ rice - Oxtail and Redwine Pot Pie - Prime rib sandwich - Sticky Date Cake I also got the Himalayan Gimlet and a light ale for drinks which complimented the food well. I’d be back here in a heartbeat if I can get that reservation again.
This place is 100% worth the hype. Just excellent all around. All the food was amazing and fresh and full of flavor. To start we got the lamb samosas which we thought was just an absolute star. Steak tartare was also excellent especially with the bread it’s served with. We shared their rotating daily pot pie which was the steak and ale which was very good. We also had the fish and chips with just show stopping tartar sauce on the side. If you go you must get the sticky date cake. It is, in fact, to die for. Service was also remarkably excellent. We will be back.
Hard to get a reservation but worth it! Excellent minced lamb pot pie - rich and savory without tasting too fatty. Like a pot roast. Could eat it on your own or split with a friend. Chicken pot pie was good too, but the lamb was better. Wagyu pub style burger was cooked perfectly and fries were crispy. LOVED the sticky date cake, sweet and moist without requiring too much water! 10/10 would order the cake and lamb pot pie again.
This place was the coziest, nicest place!!! The interior was very dim and formal, and it was wonderful to go. The service itself was quite good as well - but unfortunately where this place falls short is the food. Don't get me wrong, there were no problems or bad food, but there were many dishes that were just okay, compared to restaurants with the same price point. I got the bone marrow pot pie, which was good, but didn't stand out as something great - and at a restaurant like this, that's what I was hoping for. The oysters were great, but the lamb chops and burger weren't dazzling either. I was a fan of the chocolate mousse, however. Overall, a very nice dining experience... But maybe not worth the price tag.
What an absolutely magical experience. This is without a doubt my new favorite place in Chicago. The atmosphere, food, service, and everything in between was amazing. Truly talented cocktail team as well. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in Chicago. You'll need to hound their reservations page to snag one and but it's well worth it.
The vintage pub feel with awesome, detailed decor was just a start. The food was fantastic we went for brunch and the cocktails were also enjoyable. I had the blood sausage, apple, & pork cheek pie which may sound daunting, but it was rich and delicious. I have to say though my favorite part of our brunch experience was the sharp and witty staff -- everyone had a happy/fun energy about them. Also they're all cute AF -- so 10/10 would recommend. Ha!
It took a few tries to get a reservation, had to sit and refresh my screen when the preferred dates/times were released for booking. Well worth it though. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The old fashioned was delicious. My only recommendation is ask for it neat if you enjoy savoring the bourbon, the ice watered it down fairly quickly. Food was delicious. Steak frites were our favorite entree but the desert made the evening.
Fantastic!! Everything we got was delicious. Our waitress was amazing in all aspects. Cocktails are also very worth trying! Incredibly tough to get a table, so plan ahead. And ***GET THE DATE CAKE***
Such a wonderful experience!! My husband I went for the first time and enjoyed every minute. Our waiter Tara was great and guided us through the menu. I had a gluten and shellfish allergy and they were very accommodating. Enjoyed the salad, chicken tikka masala and a killer martini & penicillin cocktail. My husband was happy to have the pie and date cake all to himself. Can’t wait to try again, thank you!
Super hard to get a reservation. Great food and service. Definitely recommend ordering the lamb pot pie. English-Cut Prime Rib Sandwich was amazing as well. Definitely wouldn’t recommend getting the Curried Shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked and chewy.
