A few years ago, I lost my family doctor after she stopped practicing. Aquarius has helped fill a much needed gap in my medical care. The doctors here are well informed, up to date on treatments, and most importantly, work with patients to diagnose and address needs. I’m very happy with the level of care from the doctors and staff here. Even though they’re inundated with walk ins, phone calls, and patients non stop, they have always given me the support I needed. Bonus: Clinic is clean, efficient and women led, operated and focused.
I love this clinic! Great hours; open late and open for some hours on weekends. Usually has same day phone appointments as well. Receptionist are kind. As someone who gets anxiety from front desk help staff at most places, they make me feel heard and appreciated. I trek out here from Surrey for physical appointments. It's worth it to me. Dr Redding is amazing at women's health! :
Don't go there, don't go there especially if you're pregnant! Dr Theo was never there, pretty much all my appointment were made by the phone, then I got to see him in person for the first time, next time it was a different doctor telling me I was perfect and my baby was healthy and the third time couldn't happen because he never made the exams that really mattered and I lost my baby at 20 weeks. If he was there to help me out since the beginning and really cared, I could still be pregnant. I was 20 weeks and never had my pap or checked my cervix at any point. It's just a irresponsible clinic.
I wanted to write a current review since there were so many negative ones here! I think there are some new receptionists and my experience today was that each one was attentive, empathetic and super busy! It is hard to get an appointment but I would recommend calling to see if there are cancellations. I also would call to confirm results if a week goes by as they might be too busy to call if they are negative. The doctors here are also super patient and empathetic and I felt like I was in good hands. It is super busy and the wait times are a big downside but in general it seems this way in all of Vancouver. Props to the team here for working through the demand and getting me taken care of.
The doctors are absolutely lovely in all my experiences with that clinic. However the receptionist is negligent and unfriendly, I’ve called about six times, and each time am told “please hold” in a very miserable tone, and kept on hold for an extended amount of time. I left a voicemail three days ago kindly requesting a call back and have yet to hear back. Bad representation for a wonderful group of doctors. I see I am not the only one with similar complaints.
I would like the administration of Aquarius Medical to take note how poor the phone service is to get a doctor's appointment. I have been going to Aquarius Medical Clinic for 7 years. I have a great doctor. However, the wait times on the phone to book an appointment can vary from 5min - 20min and sometimes calling back because they dropped your call. Yesterday, I called and I didn't hear the receptionist correctly because she had a meek voice. She is not the only one that lacks basic customer service and being an effective communicator.
The staff in this clinic is a joke! They do not care for other people's time and are super unprofessional. I booked an appointment for today and the staff was completely clueless and asked if I can come next Thursday! If this is the kind of service you provide you might as well shut down your darn clinic and stop wasting our times. I wish I could give you 0 stars
So far the female doctors here have been lovely. The receptionists on the other hand could work on their manners, their tone is absolutely unprofessional and comes with a layer of attitude. Rudely puts me on hold without getting a word in, hangs up because they weren't able to hear me right away after leaving me on hold, all i could hear was "Helloooo??" as I was trying to get a word in then clicks. Calls again, puts me right on hold, then when I finally get to speak with her she hangs up before I could even finish the conversation. I get that the clinics can get quite busy but if they can't handle phone calls under pressure then don't be receptionist at a DOCTOR'S office out of all places.
Do you want to get bullied and constantly misplaced this is the clinic for you. The front desk staff are absolutely unprofessional, disrespectful and uneducated. Use passive aggressive behaviour to explain the rules how to book an appointment when they repetitively call more than once at any time of your day without wondering if you are busy or not, you must pick up the calls otherwise they accuse you of being dismissive and inattentive to follow the protocols. They love to call me by different names, never using my first name instead mispronouncing and telling me instead how I should speak correctly when mistake a word. When addressed to be unavailable to attend an appointment suddenly without previous warning told me I will be charge 70 cad for not attending. Two staff members called me one after other not only to mocking me as they being following up my complain regarding the way the front desk people responds to any comments or questions, to then use the passive aggressive behaviour to continue misspelling my name and accusing me of playing with their time. They add more stress than picking up calls to help as the medical community service they should be trained for.
i used to really like this clinic, but they have gone quite downhill since. i had a phone appointment and the doctor is 15-20 minutes late. then, when i finally get the call and try to describe what’s happening, the doctor says “we only have five minutes. tell me what you want, i don’t want the history”. as someone who was calling to get my antidepressants changed, this was very shocking and upsetting. i told him how low i was feeling, and he responded with “i am calling you an ambulance to your address”. no care that i wasn’t even home, and was describing my EVERY DAY state of mind. what am i supposed to do- call an ambulance every day? absolute joke. no help. if i didn’t have my mom there i would not have been in a good state of mind. word of advice: nobody there will help you unless you know exactly what you want when you call. if that’s the case though why do i even need them? to sign it? i thought doctors were supposed to HELP. will probably be filing a formal complaint because it’s months later and i am still in dismay at how i was treated during that call, because what i’ve described isn’t even half of it. Aquarius, if you’re reading this, please re train your doctors on etiquette
