A must-do with family and the kids when we visit the area! The best breakfasts on our trip back, plus the kids always have fun playing in the play area, where there are tons of options for kids of all ages! Also nice gift shop and bakery, a nice tradition to go apple picking in the fall as well.
A Disney-like experience where an apple orchard with many varieties has turned into a tourist attraction. Packed the day we were there, lots of foods and drinks including beer and wine available, live entertainment, and of course going to the orchard on the transport wagons to pick a bag of apples. Seasonly they have some peaches and pears too. The orchard entry will seem steep if you are just there to pick a certain type of apple. You can buy apples cheaper most anywhere else. This is more of an entertainment experience. This year we paid $25 per adult, $10 per child if they walk. You get a 1/2 peck bag to pick the apples of your choice which is about enough for a deep dish pie or crisp. You can of course sample all you like, so bring something to clean off apples as you walk.. Signs say no outside food or drink but there are picnic tables throughout and many brought food and ate there as we did. There is also plenty of nice food for sale, apple cider to take away, and a significant bakery operation with lovely pies and desserts. The sit down restaurant appears to have closed.
The food was amazing! I haven't had a steak that good for a while! The shop is super cute and the homemade products are good enough to write home about. The goats were the icing on the cake! What a great day!
We came here on a Wednesday no school kind of Wednesday and had the most amazing day. We originally came for apple picking, but there’s so much to do for the kids that we stayed the whole day. To get in, you have to buy a bag for each person for the apples it’s an orchard after all, and at first it seemed pricey as the cheapest option is a small bag for $20 then $25, $35, $50 and $80 - which I think is for a bushel?. So if you are two adults and three kids the cheapest option is $100. But then every activity is included: and it’s real farm fun! Tractor rise to the orchard tons of varieties and really beautiful apples, goats and baby goats you can buy feed for 25 cents, slide and Jack and the beanstalk area, pedal cars so fun!!, various mazes, and a corn box where we could barely get our kids out they were having so much fun! There are food options we had an okay pulled pork sandwich and they also had Hot Dogs and corn on the cob, and there’s a little store that sells apples and apple products and other locally sourced artisanal food products. Highly recommend Apple Holler for a fun fall day!
I've always loved coming here for apple picking and this time was no exception. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the orchard is perfect for couples, singles, families, everybody. They have detailed signs by a lot of the apple varieties, giving you the chance to learn about them. The only thing I was disappointed about is that the restaurant was closed Saturday/Sunday. But that honestly just gives me an excuse to go back during the week to get some pancakes!
This place is a must if you’re in the area! I’ve never experienced breakfast like this and it is filling and so fresh!! Took our leftovers home and can’t wait to eat the food again, lol! The staff was lovely and the inside has a shop and baked goods. We brought home s’mores donuts, turnovers, caramel apple pie, pickles, and got a apple slushy to go. Honestly, would be willing to try everything inside because everything tastes amazing. Unfortunately, it was raining and wasn’t able to walk around to check out the area some more, but I’ll definitely be coming back while I’m still in town!
Had an amazing time. Kids had an amazing time. Many activities for the kids. My two daughters rode ponies for the first time. Played in corn. Picked apples. Rode a small train. Ect.ect. was packed but quick turnaround at the gate and had drinks I could go on about the fun time that we had would recommend to All families and adults too had an area with hard cider and good old Wisconsin beer. Explore the rest yourselves cause it's well worth the money at the gate. Side not for those who love pictures great for family photos
Loved it. I came with a group of friends, we were looking for, as they put it, "wholesome fall fun", and we found it at Apple Holler! SO many apple varieties, a decent variety of food, the ciders hard and not were delicious, the hot apple cider was great. We were all 20 and 30 somethings, and we loved the goats and chickens, and the corn maze. The activities are maybe a little more geared towards kids, but we had plenty of fun too! We drove over an hour from Evanston, IL, and we would do it again next year, we had a lot of fun.
Interesting place-one of the few places around where you can still pick apples-they have peaches right now. They have a store with a lot of fruit products as well-seemed like reasonable prices. There is a restaurant on site but I didn't check it out. There were goats, too, that you can feed if you have a quarter.
Apple Holler is a great place to stop at when you’re driving from Chicago to Milwaukee or vice versa. Tasty options for sweets with cookies, cakes, pies, etc. The apple picking is always fun. They had animals walking around the property which was pretty cool as well. I am going back sometime soon I’ll tell you that much! We brought home my mother a caramel apple pie and she was so delighted. She told us that it was fresh just like it was when she grew up.
