Busy campground. Had to begin "scavenging" early in the morning for a campsite. I found a couple who were leaving and got lucky to get a site. Crazy way to do this. It is time for Glacier National Park to do a summer season reservation system.

The largest campground in Glacier NP (well, I think technically it's outside of the park). Make sure to get a reservation as the campground fills up quickly during tourist season. I'd recommend to get a site away from Going-to-the-sun road, as the traffic there can be intense (not so much at night, though). And if the weather is good, go for a swim in Lake McDonald!

Great campground! The largest of the first-come, first-serve campgrounds in Glacier you need to get there early in July to get a spot. We got there at around 8:30 - 9am and were able to get a spot. I believe that this is somewhat unusual due to very heavy visitation at Glacier this year. The campground is fairly level with a number of pull throughs. The rest rooms are fine. No electricity and no showers in the vicinity. The campground is a short walk from Lake McDonald and from Apgar Village. Stayed for two nights, then moved to our reserved site at Fish Creek. Wished we would have stayed at Apgar!

Campsites are roomy and nice. Bathrooms are close in each of the loops. Great waste-water dump facilities in each bathroom building. Hosts are pretty nice and take bear safety seriously. Busy in the summer, pretty much always full.

Nice campground. The rangers were super nice and accommodating. The only thing missing were showers. Not a thing you want to do without when camping for a week.
