Anglers' Bay Cottages and Marina

Pete and staff were great! We rented a pontoon boat for the family the first day and we had such a blast we rented a fishing boat the next day!! We were out fishing, but I totally forgot a fishing net. I emailed Pete and he said he'll have one at the end of the dock for me. We swung in and basically did a drive by and he threw us a net to use!! To the person that gave the bad review about the propeller, that does NOT happen to everyone. If you know what you are doing with a boat, you won't sink the propeller in the rocks and chip it up. If you do that you should be responsible to pay for it, that is part of the rental agreement. We made lots of family memories because of Pete and his staff. If we do this vacation again I certainly know where I'm going for a boat!

I couldn't believe how horrible of an experience I had with this business. How are there all these positive reviews?? Me and my Father drove to this place after making reservations as the owner requested over the phone with my father's credit card. We drove from Albany NY! Yea, a total of over 2 hours driving there and 2 hours back. When we get there, the lights are on in the office but no one is in there. We arrived around 6:30 am, the places hours of operation open at 6am as I'm sure you know. Well, no one was there a half hour after they were scheduled to be open...and it gets better...we wait around for 30 minutes (now it's 7:00), no is there...so we honk our horns wondering if the guy is sleeping in the apartment next door that attached...we ring the door bell multiple times looking for help...no one answers...another half hour goes by...no one (now it's 7:30)...so me and my father grab our fishing poles out of the trunk and start fishing from the shore by the boat that we reserved with his credit card that were supposed to be out in over an hour ago....another 30 minutes go by...no one, except now another family shows up with children that were expecting to rent a boat as well and they drove an hour from Syracuse. As we look around we notice a ton of empty beer bottles all over by the dock.... .it wasn't until 8:15-8:30 that someone finally comes staggering out of the apartment that's attached and he can barely walk straight. Come to find out, this was the owner of the business...when we told him how long we had been waiting, he came up with a lie that someone came earlier and pretended to be us and took out the boat. I know this is a lie because we were right next to the boat that we reserved and that his policy requires a valid ID to drive the motor boat. When confronted about it he got aggravated and said 'well all I can do is give you a refund' and when confronted about the 2 hours we drove to come here and the day off that we both took off from work he said the best I can do is give you a refund. Then he became aggravated and with slurred speech he yelled at us to get the f$&k off his property! I couldn't believe it! This was the OWNER talking to a CUSTOMER like that, that PAID for his services?!? Later on after leaving, we went to a local store and I guess this is not new news. The locals know about him! he's known around the entire area for being a drunk and getting into fights with people that stay in his cottages! The lady mentioned one instance he threw a beer bottle at Customer!! How insane is this?!? Why would anyone want to do business with a place like this? It's absurd! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. If this guy won't take care of someone who pays before hand and drives over 2 hours for his services, who will he take care of??

Worst experience ever. booked and payed in advance for day on water in boat. Drove 2 hours and got there at 6 am The time we had agreed on with owner. There is no one there! We knock on doors ring door bells honk on car horns and call business many times .. nothing. Another family shows up and they too are perplexed. We all wait three hours and finally a door opens and a man starts walking away from us we follow asking where were you. he goes into his bait/rental store and asks who we are. We say we made an appointment for 6 and drove two hours to here. he continues with someone logged a boat out as you. his voice slurred and eyes barely open. we have been here, no one was here but us. He says oh i can refund your money. How does that he we ask? but yes do sure refund us. This has gone on long enough our day and trip is ruined. The man freaks out on us and yells at us to get the F off his property. How did we deserve this attack or attitude. We were excited about our trip. We hoped for a beautiful day and got instead a great disappointment. I don't know how this business survives. How can any business treat its customers like this? Drunk or hung over still no way to treat any human being. DONT RUIN YOUR TRIP

Rented a boat for the afternoon. Boat wasnt a newer flashy boat, but was spotless clean and worked perfectly for both fishing and tubing. Pete the owner was extremely nice and accommodating, and made the experience very easy and simple. Would definitely come back again.

Great time during our pontoon rental..2nd annual..we will be back next year. Great customer service..very enjoyable experience both years. I HIGHLY recommend Anglers Bay
