About Angel Welcome

Angel Welcome is a charming, elegant bed and breakfast located in the northern Ohio historic district of Milan. Situated in a quiet neighborhood of beautifully restored historic homes, this beautiful Federal inn is nestled just steps from the historic birthplace of Thomas A. Edison. What has become Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast was the Hamilton-Stoddard House, one of the first six homes in Milan, constructed in 1828 by Daniel Hamilton, one of the leading citizens of Milan. Daniel Hamilton had what is now the Key Bank Building built adjacent to the property for his general store, where he initiated the trading on the Milan Canal.

In 2001, Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast was opened as a lodging alternative to hotels in Milan, and offers three elegantly appointed guest rooms, each with a private bathroom.

Angel Welcome Bed & Breakfast is owned and cared for by Judy & Bernie Pleunik.

Judy has always been in the business world. A selfless, self-motivated individual, she started and owned many businesses throughout her life. It was in 2001 that a life change occurred, and Judy purchased the Hamilton-Stoddard House in Historic Milan, opening the town’s first Bed and Breakfast. In 2008, she and now-husband, Bernie, married. Bernie has a background in mathematics and science, teaching for 36 years in a neighboring school system, prior to his retirement from education.

As innkeepers, it is our desire to provide you with the finest personalized service, relaxation, and the most delectable breakfasts.

We love this place! It is so much more than just a Bed & Breakfast. The owners, Bernie and Judy, are fabulous hosts. They go above and beyond to make sure every detail of the stay is personalized for you. The food is delicious. Bernie understands flavor well. We visit here as often as we can!

This is, hands-down, the nicest Bed and Breakfast ever!! It is beyond clean, and the hosts ensure your comfort. The bed/sheets are so soft, and the private bath offers space and all the amenities you'll need. Judy and Bernie, the hosts, make sure you don't have dietary restrictions, and then put out a terrific breakfast. The grounds are gorgeous and the little town is perfect for an evening walk. It is conveniently located off 250, but so quiet that you'd never know you're within 20 minutes of Cedar Point and Lake Erie. It is the perfect spot for people just passing through, or for anyone who needs pampered and wants to feel like royalty for a day or two!

The house is beautiful, the owners are great and the breakfast was 5 star! We enjoy being repeat guests of Bernie and Judy.

This cozy bed and breakfast is right off the highway. The B&B is owned and operated by such a thoughtful and pleasant couple. The house was clean, quiet, roomy, and there was a fantastic breakfast waiting for us! I highly recommend this jewel in Ohio!

Angela's B&B was perfect for our first trip to Ottawa... and we will stay there when we return. My wife and I traveled with our very young daughter and another couple with a daughter of similar age. When we arrived, Angela immediately made us feel at home. We stayed on the spacious top floor which included a deck above the yard... a perfect place to end the evening or watch the sun rise. There was also a common area on the top floor where our girls were able to play. They enjoyed the numerous toys and books Angela provided. All of the rooms were booked, but we rarely saw another guest. The rooms and common areas are all comfortably sized, so you have your own space. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the yard, swing set and outdoor toys. Angela has many bikes that guests can use, which we did. If you've never been to Ottawa, biking is the best way to get around. She even helped us book a bike trailer stroller for the baby girls. Her breakfast was outstanding... a few courses of very high quality breakfast food. We opted to go out for breakfast a couple times, but if we were to do it again, we would have breakfast by Angela every day! The location was also prime. Located in "The Glebe" you are a quick walk from great food, shopping or night life. We stayed during the Women's World Cup and were able to walk to the Landsdowne area for the festivities and the game. You could certainly walk to Parliament and the downtown area if you enjoy a more lengthy walk, maybe a mile or a bit more. While the amenities, food, location and area are great, Angela was the best of all. She guided us on best places to eat, bike, run and visit. Her guidance made our experience 100% better than if we had been on our own. By the end of the stay we felt so comfortable with Angela that she watched our daughters as we packed up the car. She honestly felt like part of the family. We are looking forward to another stay as the B&B provided the ideal home base for exploring a treasure of a city. I would highly recommend Angela's Bed & Breakfast to anyone.
