Americas Best Value Inn - Notre Dame/South Bend

Front desk has very nice workers. Place is pretty much a dump. It's being renovated and shouldn't be open. Dusty and a mess. Rooms that are open are worn and dated. Bathrooms need to be completely refurbished. This type of a place used to cost $20 per night. Paying over $100 for this is not a good value. South Bend hotel options are pathetic.

Every year for the past 7 years we have stayed at America's Best Value Inn in South Bend for Notre Dame games. I have been trying to get ahold of you guys to book our room for this year and it keeps telling me the number is not in service. Is there another number I should be using to call? We absolutely have loved our stay every year when we are there. Please let me know the new number to contact. Janell

Staff at the front desk was super friendly and a pleasure to work with. Rooms are pretty basic and run down but it was clean. Under construction and there was a lot of stuff just piled up everywhere on 1st floor.Rooms: 3/5

It was a good room but horrible pricing and false advertising.they said they gave my husband his veteran discount but lied.we wound up having to find an alternate ride cuz #5 bus doesn't have enough drivers andthe front desk was rude when we asked for help or asked for some of our money back so we could get home.Rooms: 5/5

We went for the Billy Joel concert at Notre Dame Stadium. It was a last minute decision to get a hotel room and most in the area were sold out. This place stood out because the reviews all mentioned how clean it was. And they weren't wrong! The the rooms were basic and the decor was a bit outdated, but I found this hotel to be cleaner with much more friendly staff than most hotels that I typically stay at. Price was a bit high, but well below the average of what hotels in the area were going for that night.

They stay was great. My wife and I got in really late like 1am but Rachel was still able to check us in very quickly! We really appreciated that, she was very helpful throughout the entire stay and she made sure that everything ran smoothly!

The staff was Soooo friendly! The room was cozy and comfortable, shower was incredible. Definitely the best choice for a last minute trip, better than motel 6, they let me pay cash because that's all I had.

We were driving through this area and needed a place to stay overnight. On Memorial Day weekend we had no reservation but we got a room with a queen bed. Cleanliness: some things like phone and nightstand were dusty but the bathroom and sink were clean. The bedsheet and towels were clean. The hallway and the room didn’t smell weird. Amenities: minimum. TV, fridge, hair dryer, and ice machine in the hallway. No coffee pot but it didn’t matter to us. No breakfast was available. Rick was very nice.

I went with my husband to catch a game at Notre Dame and stayed here for one night. Excellent price. The hotel is bit old but is very well kept and incredibly clean. The hallway doesn’t have heat but it wasn’t a problem since every other area is warm. The room was warm when we got there and very comfortable we went during winter. We had already plenty of towels, soap, shampoo and coffee in our room. Good TV with plenty of channels and good wifi. Breakfast is simple but more than enough, it had waffles, pastry, bread, cereal, fruit and coffee. The owner is very kind and helpful. Definitely would recommend this place and if I’m ever back I would probably stay here again.

I only spent one night here, but my experience was good. I knew what my expectations were for a hotel from this chain, but I was happy to see that the rooms were very clean and everything seemed to be in decent shape. My stay was quiet, and the owner was very helpful and friendly when I checked out. It was a great value in my opinion, and I plan to stay here next time I visit South Bend.
