Altitude Gym

Took the boys for some Friday night fun at Altitude Gym Kanata. Had a great time, they climbed the rock walls, auto belay (the braking system used for free falling after the climb) and the Ninja course. 12 and 9 year old adventure seeking boys, and they got their fill. Instructors/Staff were very nice, helpful, and patient! Teaching the boys the proper procedures, and assisting while going g through the motions, very nice. The one and only reason for a 4 star instead of is the cost. The good part of the cost is that the fee paid is for the entire day. If you were to go in the AM, and then spend the day doing all the other stuff you do as parents, you can go back again at the end of the day after dinner (to tire out the kids 😁). Overall, very happy with our trip to Altitude Gym, and definitely will be going back. Cheers, Jay

Update: I would probably change this to a 3.5/5. I went for the full year membership at both gyms since, as I mention below, it's just too expensive for me otherwise. That said, simple things like not having to wait to scan in when you arrive are hugely important when you're 'investing' yourself in a gym. I've never had a bad experience with the staff like others have mentioned but I certainly wouldn't say it feels like they are there for you. There's a 'help yourself' sort of vibe where you need to coax a staff member to where you need them i.e. buying chalk from their store. The actual gym itself is amazing for bouldering which is why I committed to a year knowing the above. Original review: Love the gym, bouldering paradise. Frequently has newly reset problems and an overall great layout. Minus one star because the memberships only start getting reasonably priced at the yearly level. Just means you have to go all the time to make it worth it!

We held a Birthday party there today. Our host was Mason and he was absolutely amazing. The best thing was that the party host stayed and ran things for the entire 2 hours. I don’t know any other venues that offer this level of service and it was so appreciated. Food was great as well. Thanks!!

Really nice place to rock climb. It is very clean and staff is friendly and kind! Got my membership there and I don't regret getting it. Would highly suggest for everyone, family, friends or anyone that wants to have some good time doing some exercise.

Went with a few friends for a birthday party. The girl at the front desk was not very helpful at all. We were doing the ninja course and had no idea what to do. We stood around for 15 minutes for someone to come and demo but they did not show up. We had to go back to the desk to ask for help. The guy was great but the course was not really all that fun or exciting and quite honestly pretty complicated. We left after 10 mins and really did not find it to be a great experience.
