I was expecting top notch service for our move from Virginia to Kansas. We paid an exorbitant amount of money and were assured we’d receive the best possible care of our household goods. When our items arrived we were in for some surprises. The driver handed me 9 pages of damages he observed in our furniture when reloading the truck from the warehouse. Almost every piece of furniture was disassembled before bringing it to our home from storage-apparently to fit it all in the truck. It took the delivery crew 2.5 days in our house to try and reassemble everything and we still have furniture in pieces.. We have about 10 bags of miscellaneous screws we have no idea what they go to. We have feet missing from a sectional couch dresser, 2 missing pieces of furniture, mislabeled boxes. The foot was broken off an antique couch and the leg broken on an antique desk. The top of a desk was ripped off, the work bench has no top anymore, our bikes are unusable-the wheels and pedals were taken off! Our outdoor furniture still sits unassembled. As do several bookshelves. Several furniture items were never wrapped so they came in broken-lamps, a fan, an entry table. Our weight equipment was found unwrapped and scattered on the warehouse floor. I could go on but I think I’ve said enough to get the picture. If I hired a guy off the street and a UHAUL maybe I’d expect this. Absolutely inexcusable for a company like this. I will say some of the the packing team did a good job. I give credit where it’s due. Our artwork and glassware arrived in good shape. And the crew on the Kansas side did try to get us back into one piece and carried a ton of our boxes away for us. I thank them for that. But in general I’m so disappointed and we are exhausted at the end of it all. We’ll see how the claims process goes. I’ll follow up on that front.
Everything was great until my possessions were scheduled to arrive at my new home. I was advised the truck was to arrive between 9-11 on a Monday morning. It did not show and no communication was received on where it was, causing my relative to waste his time waiting for it's arrival. After contacting Allied, I was advised the truck would arrive on Tuesday and again it was a no show. It finally arrived on Wednesday within the designated timeframe. The moving guys were lazy and unprofessional so my relative helped unload to get the job done as he had a pressing need to leave due to an emergency. When the unloading was almost complete, my relative had to leave so he signed the paperwork and told the movers they had permission to remain there to finish. My relative later returned to the house after the movers left and found the furniture WAS NOT reassembled. My relative graciously reassembled the furniture but found that pieces of the bedframe were lost and could not be replaced. In addition, upon my arrival at the house, I discovered that a footstool was not delivered. I contacted Allied about the situation but it denies all liability since my relative signed the paperwork and the movers told my Allied contact that they had to leave before completing the job, which was completely false. While I understand Allied's stance because the paperwork had been signed, I feel that had the truck arrived on the original date of arrival or even the second day, my relative would have been there the entire time to make sure the job was completed. I am also very disappointed with the movers' unprofessional behavior. Under the circumstances, I am very disappointed in Allied and do not recommend the use of the company.
Nothing like the experience I had previously with Allied. Almost no piece of furniture was left unscathed by the brutish treatment received. In all fairness, it was a hot day and we have lots of stairs. Everyone worked hard and was pleasant, but their skills were more than lacking.
They closed 3.45 pm if you want pickup so come early
