Absolutely LOVE this free indoor garden in downtown Toronto. The combination of plant life, clean atmosphere and some animals turtles and fish make this garden an unforgettable sight. I was surprised as it is much larger inside than it may appear from the outside.nnThere are a few atriums with different types of plants in each, beyond what you’d see anywhere in the city. Lots of tropical plants and cacti.nnI recommend checking out this garden for anyone visiting or exploring Toronto ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. They are open year long.
The green houses have such interesting and beautiful plants especially the cactus. Nice to walk around for 10-20 mins. They close at 5 pm. The surrounding park has plenty benches to sit. There are several homeless encampments and lots of homeless people which make the park less suitable for a stroll or picnic.
I enjoyed the visit a lot! The entrance is free. You can wander around the amazing green houses as much as you please. The plants are fantastic!
such a gorgeous botanical garden! it’s a shame it isn’t bigger though, but you can’t complain when it’s free! i walked into the grass for a moment and immediately found a crack pipe though so maybe don’t hang around in the grass outside?
Allen Gardens was a pretty greenhouse. It was very calm and relaxing walking through the gardens. It's also a nice reprieve from the cold during winter because of how warm it it.
