Al's Family Restaurant

Myself, wife and kids love this cool wee diner. I've lived in Morris for 5yrs and I've only recently started visiting here. Wish I'd discovered it earlier. Super friendly. Food is hearty and tasty. Highly recommend a visit while doing a but of shopping in Morris' cute Downtown area.

Amazing oatmeal like grandma used to make. The carrot soup is delicious. Two kinds of homemade soups daily, always including chicken and dumplings. Daily specials with plenty of food on the plate. Very affordable. Al has been open for over 15 years. He has received awards for the cleanliness of his restaurant. Great food, super value, a brilliant choice!

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it tasted very sour. I wouldn’t be posting about this, but when the waiter is arguing wth me about the taste of the burger. I had my bf taste it as well and it tasted like the meat was spoiled. We told the waiter about it, he came back and said they were made yesterday, then he comes back and says it was the pickles (which were on the side of the burger and I didn’t put them on) then he came back to say it was the ketchup. I ate the ketchup with my fries and I know what ketchup tastes like. I eat ketchup all the time! I’m not one to complain about food, but I heard so many excuses that it was my fault the burger was bad. This was my first time coming To Al’s and now the last. If he didn’t argue with me about the taste then I wouldn’t be posting about it.

This restaurant is my favorite. The staff is very nice and it is a very clean restaurant
