Extremely content with the food and service. Generally leave reviews for terrible establishments* or really anything that stands out beyond "amazing".. I pass by this place quite often and had my eyes peeled since the initial construction. Happy to finally have the chance to stop by and be apart of the early experience. I ordered two chicken breast plates and a mango smoothie. No complaints. Only wish the kitchen had used canola oil for the marinade due to dietary restrictions.. Other than that, it was perfect. I wish there was a bit more rice, though for most, the proportions are perfect. Great recipe and flavours in the rice and chicken. The sauces were a nice touch and the presentation is better than others. Service was great. Friendly staff and owner. Felt like family. Highly recommend and truly wish for the consistency to remain. That the ownership and recipe last for the lifetime of the business.
Amazing experience at Afghani flame Today I had the pleasure of dining at this place and it was a truly unforgettable experience for my taste buds. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. To start, I ordered the Aash, which was absolutely delicious and authentic in taste. For my main course, I decided on the lamb shank and meat lover platter, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection, with just the right amount of heat and spice. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful - it was evident that the chef took great care in preparing each dish. The kabuli rice was generous in amount and tasted out of this world. What really made the experience stand out, was the attention to detail and personalised service. Assad/Server/Owner made sure to check in periodically throughout the meal to ensure everything was to our liking. Overall, I cannot recommend this Afghani restaurant highly enough. The food was simply amazing, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving it a try - you won't be disappointed!
Afghan flame serves authentic Afghan cuisine. Been there twice in a short period of them and both times the experience was amazing. Food comes out hot and fresh and very flavourful. The chapli kabob, ground beef patties, are the best I have ever had among all other restaurants that serves chapli kabob. The kabobs are very tender and well marinated. They are not spicy so your kids can have them too. And don’t forget to try the Aush soup. Oh and great ambiance too.
I passed by this place many times and they were under renovation. I drove by late morning today and they were open. .I walked in and they just started soft opening today. Ordered a mixed grill and the meats were so tender and tasty. Good food and good price. Came with a naan bread and salad. Owner and staffs were so friendly. Definitely will go back to try some other items on the menu.
Amazing food. Seasoned incredibly well. Fast service and the staff are very friendly. The lamb melts in your mouth and the fish bites are deliciousFood: 5/5
My wife and I tried Afghan Kabob tonight and it was great! Assad was very accommodating and Sana our waiter was attentive and made sure everything was to our liking. The portions here were huge. We ordered the meat lovers for 2 and we had more than enough left over to have a whole other meal for the next day. The food itself was delicious, the beef kebabs were very tender and the chaplee and kofta were nicely seasoned. We would definitely come back here again. Glad this place opened up in our neighbourhood!
This is officially my new go-to restaurant!! This was my first time ever trying authentic Afghan food. SERVICE: The restaurant was constantly full and busy in the best way possible. It gave us confidence that this is a popular and loved placed. Rayyan and Einas served our table. They were both so friendly, genuine and patient. Rayyan gave us enough space to enjoy the privacy of our evening, yet checked in appropriately enough to ensure we always had what we need to fully enjoy the dining experience. Einas was always smiling and laughing, truly making us feel like we were already respected, frequent diners. Amazing service. FOOD: I was blown away by the delicious spices and the freshness of all the ingredients. I tried the two-person platter where I got to try all the different proteins beef, chicken, and fish. Each one was so unique. I loved the flavoured rice that complimented the nicely seasoned proteins. The fries and salad on the side were also so delicious. The portions are massive, so I had lots of leftovers to take home! My favourite part was the thin Afghan bread; it was crisp and golden out the outside, yet so soft on the inside. The garlic sauce was perfect to dip it in. In fact, we loved their garlic sauce so much that we got 7 refills..... and asked for more to take home with our leftovers! After dinner, I sampled their tea and baklava. I've had baklava from so many different places, but this blew me away. The sweetness was so natural and the flakes melted away in my mouth. Finally, I would recommend their pomegranate slush. Again, it was a generous serving in a large glass. It was so fresh, the perfect balance of sweet yet natural acidity from the pomegranate. I usually don't finish my drinks, but I downed this one! It helped cleanse my palate for the next bite. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to try a traditional and mouth-watering cuisine!! I cannot wait to bring all my friends and family back to show off this restaurant! PORTION SIZE: Very large portions! Great variety of rice, salad, and Afghan bread. Some dishes also come with fries. Great variety of side dishes. ATMOSPHERE: The ambiance was fun, warm, and authentic. I felt like I was in a beautiful restaurant in Afghanistan. I loved the decor, lighting, and rustic yet modern feel. It was very clean and each table was nicely spaced out.
Pretty good choice for Afghani food in the Erin Mills area. We ordered the Daarbari Platter for five and the food is sufficient for maybe 6 people. The half chicken was the best, followed by the kofta and filet mignon pieces. My only issue was that not all meat were hot and fresh. Some meats felt they had been sitting for about 10 min. This was the case for the chicken breast and chaplee kabab. Though they still tasted pretty good. The fries were pretty good addition to the platter. They also make fresh mango smoothies. I will return to try their Lamb and desserts. EDIT: I went for their Ramadan dinner and it was amazing for $25. They had fish pakoras, fries, regular pakoras, fruits, rooh afza drink. Their Lamb shank was SO GOOD. It was one of the best Lamb shanks I've had in Canada.
This was the best Afghan food I've ever had. Rice, meat, chicken, fish, all of it was flavoured extremely well and cooked to perfection. The place looks brand new and nicely designed. My wife and I got fantastic service the entire time and liked the food so much we got take out for our families. They also loved the food! Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian platter Kid-friendliness: Lots of options
Got takeout from this location. Food took a bit around 30 mins, but worth the wait for fresh food. Also, the gentleman told me they haven’t even been open a week, so I’m sure that’s part of it. Got the mixed grill. Food was amazing. Steak cooked perfectly. Everything is seasoned really well. Portion is also huge! I’ll happily be eating leftovers for lunch tomorrow as well. Quite close to my home, so I can imagine I’ll be visiting often.
