First time at this restaurant. Decor is nice. They also have cakes and desserts which look good but didn’t order them. We ordered sausage and pork rib with rice and mushroom and minced pork with rice. It took about 30min for the food to arrive which is slower compared to other Asian restaurants. The food is average and pricier $15 for the portion you get. If you are a member it’s $12. The owner I think he is the owner is friendly. Water bottles and packaged chopsticks were provided. The owner took his mask off a couple of times while we were there but after asking him to put his mask on, he did so. Really believe in supporting small businesses and wanted to like this place but it’s unlikely we will be back tbh.
Covid-19 forced owner to lay off his staff. He runs the place by himself. Super friendly guy. Makes sure that all of his customers are accommodated. The rice casserole takes about 20 minutes to make. But it was definitely worth the wait. The food was amazing. I would definitely return for another round.
Very chic modern interior with traditional southern Chinese cuisine. It actually tastes very authentic. Every rice dish comes with daily soup, you can tell they have put in a lot of good Ingredients to stewing the soup, so light but yet full of flavours. Rice is top with a lot of toppings. I love my mushroom and free range chicken, my friend ordered cured meat and bamboo one was very good too. While you eat, the crispy bottom is forming. It’s good till the last bite. So full and satisfying at the end. And so cheap too. $12.99 includes the main dish, daily soup and poached veggies.
Authentic and friendly. The chef/owner has such good personality. The food is on par with what I lined up for in Hong Kong. Try A2, the traditional preserved meat and preserved sausage one! Here is the empty bowl and the amazing dessert :D
Nicely done hot pot rice with homemade preserved sausage thinly sliced and not too fat. The spare ribs were tender and not over cooked. Garlic cucumber appetizer was crunchy but a bit on the salty side. Chinese veggies were also crunchy and fresh. Root vegetable soup tasted like homemade with no msg. Best part was the slightly burned rice on the bottom of the pot which was chewy. I would give 4.5 stars because they were playing Cantonese songs that I grew up with! Definitely going back for more.
I’d recommend coming to this restaurant if you want some good rice dishes. Coming in on Tues around 5:30pm, the restaurant wasn’t packed so we immediately got a seat. The owners who were also our servers were very friendly and polite. The wife wanted to get our orders earlier as she was leaving soon and her husband wasn’t very good in English which i understand. My friend and I were taking photos of our food and they asked if we wanted a photo together too. They were very thoughtful as they brought us small bowls to share our rices and told us also written on the menu that itll take at least 20 mins to arrive. I ordered the A11 Mushroom & Minced pork with Rice $9.99. The bowl was very big and I was surprised how generous the meat portion was as well. The pork was nicely soft, juicy, and didnt taste too salty at all. I couldn’t finish my rice as the portions were big and only managed to finish almost half. My friend ordered A2 Preserved Meat & Sausage with rice $12.99 was very satisfied with her dish as well. Definitely a “hidden” gem as it wasn’t as busy as other the other restaurants that is worth trying : IG: Ayenomz
Super friendly server and food came with generous portions of toppings. Super impressed by the amount of crispy rice on the bottom of the clay pot since it's hard to do! Improvement suggestion would be flavouring the rice a bit more : PS. Be prepared for some waiting time since each rice is made fresh
Really good clay pot rice with proper "fan Jiu", the crunchy rice stuck to the clay pot. The amount of toppings on the rice was also very generous. Good variety of preserved meat toppings! Rice will take 20mins because it's freshly made!
Very delicious. We arrived at 11:25 and have few tables seated. It was full house in 10 minutes. They suppose to get 5* but we ordered a veggie and haven't come so we eliminate 1* for our 1st visit. Will try again especially in cold time. Hot pot rice is a good choice fr chilly days.
Disappointed. It was nothing like the photos on the menu. My food was served in aluminum containers, although it was a dine-in. It's overpriced and not so tasty. Yes, it was sizzling hot but not something I would eat in a restaurant.
