A New Leaf Tea & Gifts Cafe

Excellent food and great selection of teas. Wasn't struck on the Saturday afternoon karaoke but that's obviously how they roll in these parts. A great local experience

Food is good but the service needs improvement. Had to go ask for my order twice . I guess the guy who took the order didn't bother to tell anyone. Tables are seldom wiped down. Why do I keep coming here ? The food is good and staff are friendly.

We ordered a breakfast sandwich, kale salad, and Greek omlette. It was quiet when we got there, just a few other customers. Despite their being hairs in the salad, it looked really good, but we returned it once we noticed a few hairs. The other food tasted nice. Major criticism was the cashier staff who took our order; she expressed constant confusion and misunderatandings on the prices, the selection of choices on our orders, and the availability of certain menu items. They were out of back bacon which was an option for the meat selection on the breakfast sandwich; this was only discovered after explaining to the cashier what back bacon was, and pointing out how it's on several other menu items. We went with ham instead. I told them I didn't want toast with the omlette (I noticed she didn't write down that I didn't want toast, and of course, wound up getting a big stack of toast... just needless waste). I ordered a cold brew coffee and was told they were out, then after a minute I was told they had one left, and then after we paid, I was told they didn't have any, so they gave be a 16oz cup of hot coffee instead, which I didn't really want but accepted since I'd already paid. The other coffee was full of grounds since it came from the bottom of the carafe. When I asked for a new cup, she seemed confused why this would be an issue. Amusingly, the server placed our food to the side of us without mentioning it, and stealthily disappeared leaving only a slightly dank odor in the air; I guess he was feeling shy.
