It's nice inside but it's basically top rope only. There is a sad little bouldering BLOC area. My picture shows ALL of it. Go somewhere else to boulder. Was visiting for a weekend, wish I knew that before I got here.
great location and atmosphere. however, i do not recommend this place if you want to learn how to belay. they do not provide you with the opportunity to practice after the class which you pay 70$ to take. they also do not hand you any written material to refresh your memory. i do not understand how they expect people to learn. moreover, if you fail the exam, they will charge you 15 more dollars to take it again. I totally agree with the other reviewers who felt shamed by their staff. and i add to that that i was given incomplete and contradictory information.nin sum, if you are looking for a caring place, this is not the place for you. some flexibility in their approach for learning, especially adult learning, won’t harm anyone.
Great vibes and good routes to climb. The rating for the difficulty of the routes was on point as well. But I think that paying the accreditation in every gym in Quebec is a bit of a disapointement because it just doesn't encourage people to climb all around
I love this gym so much! Started climbing here about 3 years ago and have done the top rope and lead courses, as well as some of their workshops. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful.nnThe setting here is better than the other gyms in Montreal. Although the grades are a bit steeper, the routes are creative and interesting - even on easier climbs they make an effort to include interesting moves.nnThe ambiance is great - staff are very friendly and create a welcoming environment.
The gym is well ran, but its not very spectacular, quite small. Big city price for such a small gym. In my experience climbing in thailand, europe and US, NEVER had to pay to test in to belay. This place charges to be able to even do the climbing which is insane. They want you to pay for a class to learn how to rope climb to then pay to test in. Couldn’t you have a friend who is already certified teach you? It’s ridiculous. And the test is sooo serious and they offer no help or clarification during. Oh and it gets wayyy to busy on tuesday evenings.
