I came for lunch service and was greeted by friendly staff. The price for lunch is super reasonable but for a Michelin star restaurant, I didn’t feel like the food was up to par. The oyster appetizer was a bit sour, overpowering the seafood taste. I didn’t enjoy the fish of the day- the texture was half raw, half cooked. Maybe it’s just my palate but it wasn’t pleasant to eat. Service was great- when I didn’t finish my entree, the chef made a new scallop dish for me free of charge which was very kind and it was actually very good!
It didn't meet my standards for a michelin star restaurant. I took the 5-course meal at lunch. First of all the portions were too small for the price. Considering only the quantity you get a better deal with the simpler 3-course meal, where there is less variety, but the dishes were more generous. Regarding taste, it was nothing exceptional relative to my experience. Between courses the taste was too similar with a persistent peppery-lemony taste. In a nutshell, there was a lack of complexity. The cherry on the pie was the dessert. Two separate bowls, both based on ice cream, but one was almost melted a minute after it arrived. Also the service was not satisfying. Too slow and clumsy. Unfortunately it was way below expectation, especially considering the reviews one can find online, but I personally wouldn't suggest it.
If you find this review helpful in any way, please give it a Like. Thanks ... Excellent food incorporating local & seasonal ingredients to its ever revolving menu. The place billed itself as modern French and it fully lived up to its name. All the creations were substantial & made sense - none of the pretentious modern creations hiding behind high concept or heavy sauces. Trust yourself to the assured hands of the chef/crew & the mission of the restaurant & simply go with the tasting menu. You will be glad you did. My friend & I enjoyed the evening's dinner comprising of the most delicate fish, succulent pork, seafood plate with prawns & the most delectable of dessert capped off with cappuccino. The kitchen staff operated and prepared the food behind glass enclosure which you can view as they ran from station to station. Fun to watch. There was no outdoor seating. The seating was intimate - tables were small & close to each other - typical of most Paris restaurants. The dining room felt a little closed in even though there were some large windows to the street. The host for our table was perfect - he really knew all the dishes, explained them to us in detail and recommended an excellent wine. We did feel bad about one of the servers. He had a really hoarse voice, coughed consistently with sniffles and he tried to explain the dishes in detail even when we dropped hints he didn't need to. He was not wearing a mask either. He was replaced after two dishes at our table but we did see he was still assigned to other tables throughout the evening. It was a bit awkward. We didn't want to bring it up with management in case it impacted his employment. Management should have been more self-aware & took precautions to make sure the server was healthy & minimize the exposure to the diners.
A new favorite in Paris and in Europe! The ambience is laid back but extremely creative. Each dish was a fabulous surprise with unconventional but completely complimentary flavors. Chef William Ledeuil was incredibly sweet and took us back to the kitchen for a photo. The manager and waiter were lovely. The wine list had nice options to pair with the food. As per Michelin, definitely worth the stop!
Great food, very pleasant and warm staff, reasonable pricing. My group of two got lucky and was able to get a table without reservation for dinner right around their opening time.
The taste is good and the overall experience is very nice if you don’t see it as “fine dining”. But it is definitely a restaurant that you want to explore new cuisines with. To go “finer”, the restaurant would need to balance the quantity of ingredients and their flavors better — i.g. I am a seafood lover and I love mussels. But in my plate, I think there were too many mussels even for a lover like me and the balance was a bit off. The service was good and professional, and I love their mise en bouche the cold soup!.
When you visit restaurant with Michelin star, you expect good food with good service. Therefore doesnt make any sense to write about it, as this restaurant meets all expectations. I liked modern cousine and I actually enjoyed the asian touch to all dishes which served like storyline through all courses we had. If you like to watch well organized team in the kitchen, you are at the right place as big windows will allow you to see every preparation of every course. In the review I can share only one pic - as I always realized I didnt take pics only after I finished last bite. There is one thing to enhance: I am used to wine pairing with degustation menu. Wine selection is broad and covering all price ranges, however, wine pairing will make it easier to taste more interesting wines and accompany such wonderfull food.
Let me start but saying that I felt a bit underwhelmed at Ze Kitchen Gallery. The food is good and the overall experience is nice but it didn’t feel as “fine dining” as the price would suggest. The mise en bouche, the plates, the service , everything was good but it lacked a bit of magic. I felt the dining room was a bit cold. Or maybe it was just me?
The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food itself was beyond amazing. I will come back in the near future!
Great service and amazing food! Every dish was creative and beautiful. It had rich taste. I loved it!
