Zaika, The Indian Delicacy

Finally gave this place a try and can say this is definitely one of the the best Indian restaurants in Calgary! It’s a small restaurant with only 5-6 booths but they receive lots of take out orders. We ordered the mix veg pakora, mango lassi, lamb dum biryani, and goat vindaloo with garlic naan. We absolutely loved the biryani and vindaloo equally! The meats were so tender and the dishes were both very delicious and had depths of flavour. We went for spicy and it definitely had a nice zing to it not too spicy at all, but the medium-spice would be perfect for those who can’t tolerate heat too well. The pakora was tasty but not what we were expecting so probably won’t order those again. Mango lassi was not overly sweet and tasted very natural, if that’s what you’d prefer. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked with a soft, flaky middle and crispy edges! We loved our experience here. Service and food was excellent and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

2nd time coming here, and the food is amazing. We had to dine in this time around, and we had the Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Chilli Paneer, Dum Briyani Veggie, Chana Masala and Mix Vegetable Pakora. The Butter Chicken and Naan are one of the best we have had and a great combo as always. Butter Chicken is full of flavour, has lots of chicken included and makes sure to elevate the recipe compared to other restaurants. For dine-in, we wish there was a larger amount given, though. The Naan is fluffy yet crisp around the corners, cooked perfectly, and put the perfect amount of garlic on top. Of the other items we had, the Dum Briyani is probably one of the best we have had as well and is executed flawlessly like traditional biryani. Chilli Paneer was amazing as well, not to mention there was so much given, and we were happy about that. Overall, we had a great time, and it was an excellent meal. It is priced around the average price for an Indian restaurant. We recommend anyone else to try it out and say that it's the best Indian restaurant in Calgary.

Really tasty food! We tried the dry chilli chicken for appetizer and it was mouth watering. The quantity is also very good. Easily for a group of 4-5 people. For mains we had garlic naan and chicken kalimirch which was black pepper chicken. The chicken was slightly low on salt but that’s okay. It was really rich and tasty. Would come back again

Dinner in and tried several dishes. The food was to die for and everything was done perfectly! Obviously because of covid they don't get people dining in often and so they don't have dedicated waiters yet, but other than that there was nothing to complain about. Definitely going to come back and get the Malai Kaftan again!

Tried butter naan, chettinaad fish and chicken manjurian. I liked fish chettinad more. It was delicious. Packing was good and the amount was good. Ordered 4 naan and got 12 pieces. Enough to eat for 3-4 times. The waiting was little too much. Ordered food at 6pm and got it by 7.15ish. Can’t blame them, the store was super busy

We tried Zaika for the first time and absolutely loved it. The portions are MASSIVE and lasted for days so it is well worth every penny you spend. The location is very quiet and small on the inside but it has a cozy atmopshere. The quality of the food was really nice. The front staff are also very nice and professional. I would definitely eat here again and I would recommend it to all my family and friends!

Before today, Zaika delivers the best Indian food in Calgary. But today was the different day. I ordered 2 curries and butter naan. Everything was disaster. One of the worst food I ever had. I don’t have words to express. Not just my 50$ wasted but these food has ruined our evening. Please bring consistency in the food.

My family's favorite Indian restaurant. We have been to numerous Indian restaurants downtown and in every quadrant of Calgary, but we have yet to find a better butter chicken our fav dish. We are lucky to have this place close to where we live and it's always our first recommendation to anyone who asks. The dinner for 4 special is our go-to order.

Ordered from Zaika for the second time and both times have been great. Indian takeout can get quite expensive when you order multiple dishes, but I ordered the combo for 4 through skip the dishes, and the value was great. The food was flavourful and not oily. Will order again from Zaika and would recommend to others in the area.

Nice & Clean Atmosphere in all Aspects. As our wishes, they can well prepared foods like Vegan, less or medium oil, Spicey or not with Generous Quantity with reasonable price too.
