This is a popular Japanese restaurant in Winnipeg. The overall color and temperature of the restaurant is very comfortable. The food was excellent, especially the fried shrimp tempura. Bao bun is an American style, very different from Japanese style. Signature champion noodles and hakata ramen are different from their Japanese counterparts in Nagasaki and Hakata. Although I prefer the Japanese style, I have to say that yujiro has given their ramen another soul that is still outstanding! Just a reminder, make sure you make a reservation if you're going to eat here.
This is my go-to Japanese food whenever I am in town. I usually come here for ramen during lunchtime, but recently I went for dinner. I enjoyed everything we ate. The staff is friendly, and I love the new interior.
Excellent Japanese restaurant, the sushi was outstanding! The sashimi was some of the best I have had.nThe cocktails they have are well paired to the food, and service was great as well.nnI would definitely recommend trying Yujiro if staying in Winnipeg, I will be going back next time I am in town.
Went for dinner and we tried the tuna carpaccio, sea snails tsubugai cooked in sake and dynamite roll. Snails are a bit on the pricier side but SO worth it! Especially if you’re adventurous and want to try something unique in Winnipeg and are into savoury/salty sea food. It was very filling and can def be shared between 2 people or more. Carpaccio was a good palette cleanser for the saltiness of the snails, and was a good appetizer to share, especially if you’re there for small plates and conversation.nnFor drinks we had lychee martini and sake sunrise. Drinks were a bit on the stronger side but so so good!nnAesthetic and cleanliness of the place was excellent and ambiance was great overall. Even when it was busy, our conversations were audible. Service was also excellent! Good for dates/one on ones/ and even smaller groups. No dress code but a place that’d be fun to dress up/look cute for.nnWe reserved our table, but noticed lots of walk ins being turned away, even when we were there right when they opened, since they tend to be fully booked. So I recommend booking your reservation online ahead of time.
My first time here was amazing. I came alone and got good recommendation from the waitress. Everything was absolutely perfect. The oyster was fresh.nThe Saikyi black cod was the star among the dishes. The seasoning in sauce and the puree was smooth and catchy.nThe sashimi platter and blue fin tuna nigiris were no discussion. Fresh and melting in my mouth.nThe una don buri was just fine. However, the karaage chicken was crispy but it is kinda bland even after i dipped the pieces in the sauce. For the miso soup, i can still smell the tofu and it is too thick and firm.nThe trio dessert was so greatly combined like a song. From something icy and cold to warm and soft.nGreat experience and i will definitely bring my friends next time.
