Visited the services of York Cemetery and Funeral Centre in Toronto for a relative’s visitation. The staff were compassionate and helped guide us with clear directions. The facility was quiet, clean, and arranged in a way that felt respectful and serene. Everything ran smoothly and was handled with care. Overall, a beautiful and professional location.
a very lovely place. probably the best and most peaceful time to visit is in the late afternoon/evening and weekends, as during business hours lots of work it can be a bit noisy grass cutting, and some construction. As an Eastern European I was very moved to discover many graves of people from that part of the world Ukraine, Latvia, etc. I only wish there were more benches especially in shaded spots. I very nice place to go for a walk and/or explore.
York Cemetery holds a special place in my heart as the final resting place of my beloved dad. The serene atmosphere and well-kept grounds provide a peaceful space for reflection. I’m grateful for the respectful care and maintenance that ensure a dignified resting place for our loved ones.
I have several loved ones that are buried here and have been visiting for over 25 years. The condition of this cemetery the back portion of the second property- not where the offices are has SEVERELY declined. I am appalled. There are chunks of grass and craters everywhere. It is extremely unkept. The grass is literally withering away and dying. It makes the entire process of visiting your loved ones so painful. I brought up my concerns with at least patching the large holes and missing grass chunks with the office that were obviously created with their machines and I was treated like I was inconveniencing them with my complaints about poor maintenance. Goodness forbid I make remarks on poor upkeep. Looks like the management team here doesn’t manage or coach their team on proper practices. Never used to be like this. This cemetery used to be a place of celebration of life and mourning - now it’s an unkept plot of land.
A fantastic place for someone who adores tombstones and their messages to take a walk for the first time! I visited on a foggy day, and even though it was in the middle of a crowd, it was quite empty and quiet.
