We were vacationing in Petoskey and took Tiffany’s “Slow Flow Vinyasa” class and it was so relaxing! Tiffany is very skilled Yoga teacher and walked us through each pose. When we vacation here again, we will definitely come back!
Tiffany is great! After moving back to Michigan from North Carolina, where I would practice yoga occasionally, I wasn't sure if I would find a place to fit in and feel comfortable. After a few months of yoga here, I can say everyone is super friendly and encouraging. They make me feel like part of a community, and that makes me happy
This is a wonderfully peaceful and healing space. Tiffany and other teachers offer a variety of classes and workshops for all levels. There is gentle yoga if you need a good stretch to get back in tune with your body or are brand new. Additionally there are vinyasa classes if you're looking for something more intense. Each class is ended with shavasana, many of which include a sound healing portion with Tibetan singing bowls. Everyone is included, you are encouraged to listen to your body and trust what it can do. Every teacher I've had there has been very positive and supportive. No one is forced to do any pose, and modifications are offered. There are many workshops including buti yoga, belly dance, community meditation, and sound healing. Yoga Roots also gives back to the community with food drives. All around the best yoga studio I've ever been too.
I find Yoga Roots very, very beneficial and adaptable. The experiences are professional, in depth, and a variety of techniques are offered. I was told the more experiences one has in yoga the more one can grow in their practice. I totally understand this statement after being at Yoga Roots. I live down state but always visit Yoga Roots in Petoskey when there.
Eternal Possibilities: we only use a small portion of our brain typically because we only try a small portion of life. We put up all sorts of walls and make all sorts of excuses. We make fun of the clothes or call it "new age" - we claim religion as an excuse or are too uncomfortable with our own body or other bodies - these are all underlying reasons to our everyday dysfunctions - but we can fix these by releasing the tensions that create imbalances - just by first being willing and able to find the source of tension and release it - by finding our balance. This is not self help. This is self-awareness for the true athlete and scholar of life. Even I was afraid at first. What will people think? I forgot to ask what I would think when I found better muscle strength, better balance, and more patience. I am now a million times more comfortable with my image and being around others after intentionally embarrassing myself in a new sport that I knew would be failure at first. Finding success after failure is a huge confidence booster, period. And if I did it, anyone can. I can't drive a car, I have all sorts of metal holding the bones together on the left side of my body, I can't hear in classroom settings, but I find success every second of every class by just being able to breathe in and breath out with intention instead of by accident.
Owner of the company fights with local patrons. You would think being a Business Owner, there would be a level of professionalism.
