My family frequents this Family Y. The kids programs, childcare and Y kids are all very convenient. My wife and I can drop the kids off at 10am on Saturday morning and get 2hours of squash in. The squash courts and squash leagues are very well maintained and organized. A BIG shout out to ANDY BEACH! The yoga classes included in your membership are very good Bernie always seems to know exactly what I need.
This is the best Y I have ever experienced. Once inside, prepare to be greeted with a smile, hello by reception, another staff member or Y member! The women's change room is clean and staff friendly. The fitness staff are thee best. They stay current with fitness trends, are encouraging and enthusiastic. Tons of classes are available here. Other members are amazing too. Fitness equipment is very well maintained, very rarely in need of repair!!Dear Reader, I'm a newbie to this Y, yet I feel as welcome as someone who has been a member for decades. This is a gym where you can be confident the staff are there for you. Or if you want to do your own thing, Orillia YMCA is the place to be! Lots of volunteers help round out the entire experience. Pool is clean, big, sauna and hot tub will get you through winter. Thank you YMCA Orillia!
I paid a year in full for a membership which I now regret since our family only used the facility three times In that year. I wish someone would have notified or even simply mentioned the free trial option, since my 7 year old son ended up not liking the facility, since being diagnosed with diabetes last year, I tried to interest him in working out , along with my newborn baby to swim also.
Would be giving 5 stars, however I was removed from the pool by a worker for "not swimming fast enough" in lane swim. The worker seemed irritated at my speed and another worker had yelled at me before-hand for resting at the wall. I'm at the YMCA to get a decent workout in, I'm not on any swim teams I'm simply there to workout at my own pace, I am disappointed in the staff for berating me.
Some of the staff can be rude and unwelcoming when you forget you card.. even though you pay for a membership and it takes about 5 seconds to register your name in the computer. Much of the equipment is old, including the treadmills which you can feel does not cushion your knees while running - which is vital if you do it all the time. Showers are dirty. But most of all NOT COMPETITIVE PRICING & NOT 24 HOURS UNLIKE PRETTY WELL EVERY GYM IN ORILLIA NOW.
Visiting family in Canada and did a seniors exercise class with them, which was good. Also the pool looked lovely. Staff very helpful and pleasant too
A friendly place to exercise. Classes are quite well attended. The pool has been warmer lately. We all need to exercise. Either use it or lose it.
I like this location. The staff are friendly, the change room is clean. I would like to see the gym cleaner, a lot of dust around the window sills and around the bottom of the equipment.
Well kept facility with all the amenities including showers hot tub and sauna. Staff is very polite and ready to help your needs.
Well I smoke I felt disappointed in my b ball game. Yet inspired to get in better shape. Risky tho cause I have smoked a lot in the past. I believe I would like to get a membership
