Amazing Thai food from this family owned restaurant along Macleod Trail! The cashew chicken was chewy and flavourful with a nice amount of spicy kick and the yellow curry was incredibly seasoned. I tried the butterfly pea flower Lemonade because it's fun to watch the drink turn from purple/blue to pink/purple after stirring in the lemon juice. Tastes like a classic refreshing lemonade. The main dishes tasted even better over the coconut rice. We had leftovers to take home and even when having them microwaved a day later, the quality and taste was still maintained. I was really happy with this experience and would definitely go back.
Good food with nice decor and friendly staff. We didn't plan to come here initially but I came across the restaurant's name so we stopped at the restaurant for some Thai food. The food was really good and we were happy with everything we ordered. The place is small but cozy. I like the string lights on the ceiling and the green they have along the wall. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the new discovery. I plan to keep this as our go-to for Thai food We ordered fresh salad rolls, chicken satay, beef pad Thai and sweet dessert I forgot the spelling, with some Thai milk tea.
My party ordered green curry with chicken, basil crispy pork belly served with fried egg and rice, coconut rice for main. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. The food was tasty and of a happy portion. The server was attentive. They managed to get a sweet mango in February, reminding us of the sticky rice from Thailand.
When we arrived at the restaurant we were warmly greeted. The restaurant was super clean and absolutely beautifully decorated inside. We loved the decor to include bamboo and corrugated steel and the lights created a Street market vibe. Not only was the restaurant impeccably clean, the food was the best Thai food I think I’ve ever had. Check out the photos and our recommendations. The flavours and the sauces were just absolutely fantastic! A lucky find. Free parking!! Limited seating. Access from 42nd Avenue if coming from the South. Thanks for the great service!
The beef in curry is tough. If you like to drink curry as souptasty curry and terrible meat, you will love it. I will recommend the thai milk tea and a chicken soup. The mango sticky rice is fantastic, but the papaya salad is only recommend for people who like spicy. Traditional Thai food, not bad. They took me back to my wonderful Thailand tour.
Most authentic street Thai food you can find in the city. It will bring you back to Bangkok! I am Thai and have been living in Canada for over 20 years. I never go to Thai restaurants because most of the menus are westernized and they just don't satisfy my cravings the same way. I'd rather cook Thai food at home in order to get the right homey flavours. But now, this place is a game changer! I've been waiting for someone to bring Thai Street Food to mainstream! They have all the classic dishes that local Thai people would eat on a daily basis! Many of their menus you won't find in your typical Thai restaurants. If you truly want to experience the true flavours then this is the place to check out. Warning: true Thai flavour is spicy, so expect things to be spicier than what you're used to. Thai food tastes better spicy! The portions are big and most of the dishes are meant to eat as family style. I spoke with the owner and he said his mom is the chef, which explains the homey taste. I love it! Brings me back to my childhood in Thailand! This will be my new go to place for my Thai craving. For this trip we ordered mussel pancake my childhood favorite, basil and pork every thai person favourite and bbq pork skewer most popular Thai street food. The portions were more than enough for two. We brought half of the portions home for another meal. PS. I also love that they use vintage Thai plates that every old Thai home would have as serving dishes. So nostalgic!
Hidden gem in Calgary! Their Green Curry is a must try, not too spicy but super flavourful, eat it with coconut rice and you will feel like you are in Thailand. Only thing is beef is too tender. Cocktail mixed perfectly too for such a small restaurant.
Our Thai friend recommended this restaurant to us and said that this is the most authentic Thai resto in the city. Lo and behold that she was 100% right! Their pad Thai is very tasty and has lots of texture and sauce! Unlike the ones in commercial Thai places. Their BBQ pork sticky rice is very affordable too $9 for 3 sticks and a side of sticky rice. Tom Yum soup is very delicious and has a good kick in it $5+. The service was good and fast. We noticed that there are a lot of SkipTheDishes during our stay so we thought this is really the best place for Thai food! Yim Siam will be our go-to Thai food from now on!
After visiting the restaurants twice, their consistent quality and service really impressed me. Food was amazing as usual. I tried their curry noodles, served with crunchy egg noodles which sizzles as it sinks in the delicious curry. It was the best noodle dish I've ever had.
Food here was amazing! Had papaya salad and is was fresh as could be. Just enough chili in it to get a hint every other bite. Appy soup was also great. Then green curry and broad noodles for mains. Everything was outstanding! Definitely recommend.
