Decided to go there based on their high rate. The restaurant ambience is very average. The hostess was very nice. We ordered Markos roll for the appetizer. The filing was fine but no something you want to try again. Cordon Bleu was their best dish we tried but didn't have a wow factor. The burek was soggy and oily. The BBQ platter was the worst dish of the night. Nothing gourmet about burgers, below average. Extremely salty sausage. Chicken was average. Chevapi was fine. The pork loin was ok. Overall the food was very greasy, too expensive for the quality, and only focused on quantity. They serve home made food which you appreciate if you are invited to their house. Sorry Mario's kitchen, don't want to be harsh critic, just wish you success and hope you find ways to make the restaurant better To support the family business we will visit them again. I hope they also work on the food to change it restaurant worthy
Amazing food, they had live music when we went there. The owner is always around is a great chef. Chevapi here is amazing, beed sausages are flavorful ad well cooked. Highly recommend this place for Croatian food.Recommended dishesChevapi
Comfort food at its finest. Loved this place, friendly owner and delicious food. I had the cevapi, bread was fresh and soft, beef was tender and flavourful. Also had the cabbage salad which was refreshing and complimented the cevapi perfectly.Recommended dishesChevapi
It's a great place with It's own unique experience. Big portions, delicious meals. Turkish coffee. Local music from Croatia. Definitely gonna visit again next time I'm around that area
Very impressed with the food and the service. Family owned and operated, a sister of Marko sat us at our table and shared the story behind their restaurant. Love their philosophy about providing many dietary substitutions to meet the everyone’s specific needs. The food was homemade and hearty. Reasonably priced. You can tell lots of love goes into their dishes. Ordered Marko’s Rolls as an appetizer, cabbage rolls, and goulash. Overall a really pleasant experience and I can’t wait to go back and support them by enjoying their food.
First time here for me. Very interesting story of why it is here and well worth supporting. Check it out and be sure to ask the owner why he decided to build a restaurant. The pork schnitzel I had was fantastic and GF. And don't forget to finish with a coffee.Food: 5/5
Lunch at @markoskitchen_yyc was amazing. They specialize in low carb, allergen friendly cooking and I was impressed. Items can be sugar free GF, DF, Vegan and low carb. Locally sourced ingredients with a homemade comfort touch Also, try the cakes and baklava.... I'm already regretting not buying more to bring home The owner was beyond delightful as well. You feel like family immediately.
This restaurant was one of my favourites I’ve ever been to. Not only was the food absolutely amazing, but the service was even better. So welcoming and friendly and a family based restaurant. Next time I’m in Calgary, this will definitely be my first stop. Thanks for such a great lunch!!!
Delicious food and amazing service! Owner is super friendly. The food variety is big, very healthy, GF and vegan options. Owner said it's possible to meet a lot of food restrictions. I had smoked pepper, was delicious!!!
Cant say enough about Marko’s Kitchen! A 10/10 experience. The food is amazing, portion sizes are more than generous and service is great! It’s such an inviting atmosphere — will definitely be back!
