The food here never disappoints.nThe Greek salad, Gyro special with pork and chicken, and the bread they serve with it are some of my favorite items.nThe service is very good. My only issue is some of the staff could be a bit more friendly. The owner is always very welcoming.nThe atmosphere is okay. It seems like the inside could use a little updating.nThey do have an outside seating area but I have never sat there but it looks nice.
Good food, typical Greek diner food, tasty and at decent prices. Not much atmosphere, but it is clean and efficient. Good option to stop by and recharge on your way to the Catskills trip or heading back to the city...
Sullivan County is so lucky to have a place like this to eat and gather. The food here is served in abundant portions and is made with love and care - I always enjoy my dinner, and I always enjoy my leftovers. In my opinion, Yiasou offers tremendous value. Some of my favorites here are the eggplant fries when on special, the soups, the gyro, the mix grill platter, the enormous and delicious salads, the whole branzino when on special chef’s kiss, and any dessert out of that fantastic dessert case. But what REALLY makes Yiasou distinguish itself from all other local restaurants is the hospitality provided by George and his staff. As a fellow restaurant owner and operator, George set the par for hospitality which my businesses aspire to emulate. There is never a day you arrive at Yiasou and don’t see George - he is ALWAYS leading his team, showing them kindness and respect, clearing plates on the floor, checking in with customers, jumping in the kitchen when needed, and more. The pride and love he brings to his business daily is truly aspirational. I guess what I am trying to say is - George for President 2024. Thank you to the team at Yiasou, you are all the best!!!
Really good variety of excellent food. But be forewarned, portions are HUGE. You WILL be packaging up leftovers. We had one child in our group who got what we thought was a child's portion, and it was large enough to be an adult portion and even she commented on how much food was on that plate maybe it was an adult item? Another woman in our group ordered an entree and a starter salad, and out came a massive packed bowl filled with enough salad for several people. We were given several large loaves of bread as well. It's also a small, crowded storefront-type dining room, so a little cramped. Overall a good experience though, with friendly staff.
Very cool Greek place in Liberty, which is usually kind of a boring place for food. The plates are all huge, the owner friendly and welcoming. Loves my grilled halloumi spelling? salad and my kid had grilled salmon and loved it and the ginormous steak fries that came with it. The meat pie was also a huge hit, and it's also huuuge! The gyro was very solid I was told by kid2. They also had a really lovely garden terrace to eat in, as long as a storm wasn't imminent which it was today. Will be back!
