Liberty Diner And Restaurant

After two disappointing encounters with Diners on the trip, I have to say we were third time, lucky. Although this is a diner, the food here is a notch above your typical diner food. The space itself is huge with a lot of different seating areas. as you enter you are welcome by shelf full of cakes and pastries, and it was very hard for me to resist ordering a couple of them, but I had no space after the breakfast. We ordered a bunch of breakfast item, and I got the eggs. Benedict over crabcakes while my friends got the French toast and the omelettes. Everything tasted great. Although the crabcake was not very crabby, and I am sure they used some form of imitation crab, but given the price, it was still pretty good. The omelettes were very well made with a lot of fillings and the house potatoes to go with, that were very good as well. I loved the French toast with the Nutella, and it was gone in minutes. The only let down was the coffee and it was a very bad quality of coffee. I wish they invested in better coffee beans. Overall, a really good breakfast place.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. There are periods of special pricing for lunch and dinner. I came during the early bird dinner special, which has a special section on the menu, with option to add a beverage and dessert for $6. Many entrées include a soup or salad. All staff were courteous. There is a 4% discount offered if paying in cash. There is also the option to order online. Each table had sanitizer. Seating options were mostly freestanding tables, with some counter seating and booths. A lazy Susan displayed a delightful array of cakes and pies.

We stopped by on our way to another place and since we were too early we came here...a throwback to another time in the Catskills..Really liked it...good for a stopover meal off Rt 17.

A motorway emergency brought my family to this diner at a late hour, when all other non-fast-food eateries were closed. It was still bustling, signalling its popularity. The whole place gave off a warm air of home dining experience. The portions were unmistakably generous diner sizes! My vegetarian panini was delicious; I only ate half of it and the other half became next morning's breakfast. My son wolfed down his chicken sandwich. The only blemish was in husband's shrimp and avocado salad: the shrimps were undercooked. I took a few home and microwaved them to perfection the next day :-. Their fries were surprisingly nice - crispy on the outside while fluffy on the inside. The bathroom was pristine. We pass through Liberty on occasion, and sometimes make a special trip to go antique shopping. Very happy to have discovered this culinary option!

They need to learn how to cook. Ordered banana pancakes... Got regular pancakes with a bunch of walnuts in them and a few slices of banana on them. Go to miss Monticello to have some awesome banana walnut pancakes you will never go back to the liberty diner again .. liberty diner doesn't clean their grill all we tasted was garlic on their pancakes!!!
