Yaya's Flame Broiled Chicken

Prompt, friendly service. The chicken is tasty and juicy. The one problem is there's still feathers and shafts stuck in the chicken. I had to pluck my chicken. That made it difficult for me to enjoy it to the fullest.

I will never come back to your establishment! Where on my lunch break ordered a two piece dark meat salad and mixed vegetables. My lettuce is completely wilted and disgusting looking my vegetables are hard as a rock and my chicken is so small and dried out and I can’t even bring it back to get a refund and get new food because I wasted my 30 minutes coming to your place. Absolutely horrible will never come back. You should have higher standards than this! Literally my chicken leg is as wide at a quarter!’

This is a restaurant that is easy to drive by, and I admit I did for years before finally stopping in. Glad I did. The chicken is good. Their focus is on the chicken. Mission accomplished. You want to get some non-fried chicken quick? This is your spot. And the service is good. Everything else? I can't speak to it. I had a wrap, the mixed veggies recommended by the guy at the register, and a fountain drink. Let's work backwards here. The drink was fine, but the dispenser boasted "flavor shots" to add. None of them were working, but they made the most comically obnoxious noise when I tried them. The mixed veggies? Boiled, flavorless organic masses that I'm convinced were once sourced from Birdseye -- but that company probably wouldn't want to claim them at this point. As for the wrap? Honestly, few complaints save for not knowing ahead of time what was in the wrap. It's not advertised. Beans, rice, chicken, and I got the BBQ sauce. The sauce was fine, could be better, but serviceable enough. But then there was a white sauce in there that I really should have asked about. Give someone a heads-up about these things. I'm willing to go back. I want to try the chicken on its own and a different side. This place strikes me as a possible hidden gem.

Very good food! The chicken is delicious! Sides were solid as well. Food was ready fast and for a reasonable price. I seem to remember the honey butter being house made however now it is prepackaged. I liked the old way a bit better, personally. But other than that, I have nothing but food love for this place. A true Lansing staple!

This is only the second time I've been there within the past year. Same experience each time... The chicken is so dry you can barely swallow it. Yaya's chicken used to be juicy and flavorful, this chicken was awful.Food: 1/5

I was excited to give it a shot. Walked in 15 min before closing. Ordered a bowl and they gave me all my food mixed up together in a to go container. The server was not pleasant either.

Not what it used to be 6 or so years back. Skimping on the salad dressing. The pita bread butter is not good anymore. Mash just isn’t good. Sad stuff, used to love this place.

Personally I absolutely love the jalapeno ranch pita. Thier chicken is I believe, grill cooked to perfection. The chicken mixed with corn, onions, lettice and jalapeño ranch or any dressing they have to offer stuffed/over filling a pita. Love it... On the other hand their sides aren't anything special, particularly if not fresh.

The worse food I have had when dining out in a very long time. The chicken was so dry you couldn't swallow it alone. I had a Mac and cheese bowl. The Mac and cheese had a quarter of a inch of liquid in the bottom and the pasta was mush. We are at 1:30 say eit was lunch left overs but it should of been tossed. My son had chicken on the bone and said it was like saw dust. He loves ya yas and I had never ate at one. The worker was very pleasant and friendly. He did a great job. If I ever go back it sure won't be at this one. We tossed our food and went to Quality Dairy for something to eat.

I still love Yayas after 20 years. Great chicken and chicken salad. Food: 5/5
