One of the most humble restaurants I have been to in Canada. The owner/chef Yasser is such a down to earth person and welcomes you with such warmth. The whole place has this positive peaceful energy. It felt good just to sit there for an hour and I enjoyed the food was so homely as well. The restaurant has been around for a long time and it has a couple of tables inside for dine in and a few outside too. Tried the chicken sandwich, lentil+veg soup with rice and mocha. All of them very delicious. Definitely going to visit here often. Such an underrated restaurant with beyond reasonable prices.

A true hidden gem in Metro Vancouver! This is the 3rd time we went to this cafe, and we ordered two sandwiches egg & cheese and roast beef, a chicken salad and two soups lentil soup and beef barley soup. Such affordable prices and Yasser the owner/chef is so friendly and kind to all customers. Food was obviously freshly made and tasty as always! I even got some a soup refill and some extra pasta to try out so I can order it on my next visit! 5 stars and 5 thumbs up!!!

If you’re one of the lucky people who stumble across Yasser’s shop like me, you’re in for a treat! Dining at Yasser’s restaurant feels like going to eat at an old friends place. He makes you feel at home. His menu is simple- soup and sandwich plus his daily special. I ordered the chicken sandwich with beef and vegetable soup. It’s exactly what I wanted- wholesome home cooked meal made with love and tasted healthy and delicious. The real magic is Yasser’s charming personality that makes you feel great just by being in his presence. He also shared that his shop was featured in Burnaby Monopoly. How cool! I can totally see why he has so many 5 star reviews. I haven’t had so much fun eating alone in a long time!! It’s definitely a place I’d recommend to all my friends. Thank you Yasser for your kindness and hospitality, I will for sure be coming back again!

Walked in recently after reading the good reviews of the store. It is a small restaurant with tasty and affordable food for all. I had tried their shrimp, corn beef and roast beef sandwich and to be honest they are good. The sandwiches cost you around 5-6$ and if you are getting a soup it costs around 2$ and you can get coffee or juice to drink under 1.5$ for 9$ you can have a healthy and tasty meal. Yasser is so nice and smiling. The service is so good and that has made me their regular customer. I work nearby this business and whenever i dont carry mu lunch i drive straight over here. Its definitely worth the money. Their homemade soups are so good. They have different soups on the menu everyday. A must visit spot as per my suggestion. Pay parking available in front of the business during weekdays.

This place has 5 stars for a reason. Yasser serves up delicious hot food with outstanding service and all by himself! He was alone serving a full restaurant during a busy lunch rush. Incredible. Turkey sandwich with a big bowl of beef and barley soup. $7.50. This guy is a hero. Don’t think twice about coming here.

I would have never known about this place had it not been for a pharmacist friend of mine who took me there over a year ago. I recently took a friend there for dinner. There aren't many places in the lower mainland where you can get a full meal ie. main, soup and drink for under $12!! Yasser is a one-man operation and he does everything. I ordered the lentil soup but he combined it with minestrone which was delicious. The corned beef sandwich was made with real corned beef and not the processed garbage. He even gave me a complimentary vegan chocolate cake!! I can't say enough great things about this mom and pop place. You can't find value like this anywhere else. Yasser is very friendly and warm. The way he treats you makes you feel like you are a new member of his family. It is truly a labour of love for him and it shows.

Yasser's... saying this place is a gem would be a understatement. It's been a solid day and a half and I am still in awe of how great this spot is. The owner is such a wholesome guy and saying he is "kind" is just not enough! There are regulars that come here, something you will notice instantly, and everyone has straight love and respect, for good reason. The prices are more than reasonable. The food itself could only be described as "homemade". There is NOTHING bad to say about this gem, and if you think there is, you probably need to seek a shrink for having no sense or taste. I will definitely be stopping here again anytime I am in the area.

Literally astonishingly good. Prices are great $2 for a cappuccino?, the owner is extremely friendly and knew customers by name, the food is delicious and well proportioned. It's not fast food - at least when we went here there was only the owner serving a number of tables, so it took a little while for our orders to get to us - but if you're looking for a charming place to have a relaxed sit down and chat for very little money there's no place better.

What a wonderful place and owner! We are here at Burnaby General under difficult circumstances, and this cafe has been a gift to us. Wonderful food and support. Best is the laughs we have had with Yasser, the owner/chef. He is such a warm, kind individual. As another review said, there is such peaceful energy there. We are from Calgary and will not pass this way again for a while, but will always stop in for a visit and his fantastic food.

my partner & I feel so lucky to have come across this lovely little corner of Burnaby!! I can't believe how much delicious food we were treated to for literally nothing but a few dollars each. our only regret is that we live a little too far to frequent the cafe as often as we'd like. if you are ever in the area, please give Yasser's a try. I guarantee that you'll walk out feeling happier than you did walking in. made our day for sure!!
