Excellent southern cooking at great prices. Tried the fried chicken, ribs, potatoes salad, beans and corn bread muffin. Mouth watering. Better breading than Hattie's.

I had ribs. Mrs. Jenner had haddock. The ribs were delightful -- 3 huge meaty ribs drenched in mild sauce. The fish was crispy and fresh. The sides were sweet potato, macaroni salad, green beans and a corn meal muffin; the beans were disappointing -- I prefer them differently. The rest was tasty and satisfying. The restaurant is spotless -- and the kitchen is open and visible. Yaya and her friends are congenial. This is Scenectady's equivalent of Miss Maude and Miss Mamie; it is serious comfort food at a price that is attractive. I expect to come back.

The family who runs this is very nice, but their definition of a sandwich is really just a huge bone-in piece of meat on top of a slice of bread. It's delicious chicken though, and I highly recommend it. I also recommend steering clear of their greens. Everything else is great. Would be even better if they had gravy.
