The patio and general setting is beautiful! Service is friendly. However I found all of the food quite mediocre at best, and prepared without the level of care and delicacy you'd expect considering the pretty high prices. Will still come back for drinks and brunch to test it out though!
Went for a nice cozy anniversary dinner, in late October so it was indoor dining. Absolutely loved the food! We ordered a charcuterie board, cocktails and mains. The charcuterie board which is usually for 2 people was packed with stuff because we said it was an anniversary dinner. Had to take home most of it, ended up in our sandwiches the next few days Mains were so good! I Ioved the stuffed chicken I ordered, cooked beautifully. And my husband enjoyed the beef. We were so full after the meal we thought of skipping dessert, but the chef ‍ made us a pavlova with berries to share and nibble while we had some coffee. We had the pleasure of being served by the owner herself. Very pleasant lady, and since we also live in the Sandy Hill area we had quite a friendly chat with her. Patio dining opens up when the weather's good, and it's quite popular. So make reservations ahead to get a place. It also has a great bakery with fresh bread and yummy pastries, which runs out because of many happy frequent customers. All in all I'm totally happy living so close to such a great local dining experience.
Had an amazing evening enjoying one of these final warm nights of the season. Amelia best hostess ever!! and the staff were so kind and set up a spot just for us on the terrace. Dinner and drinks were great, and we enjoyed fantastic live music at Manifesto Lounge after our meal. Hope to come again soon!
Nice and welcoming staff. We went in for brunch but unfortunately there was a big event going on and they were not able to accommodate us. Despite this they offered us coffee/tea and pastries from their lovely bakery. Although their baked goods looked amazing we opted out for just an iced London fog and latte. The drinks were a good size and tasted great. The seating area is big and is simple yet cute. Although it was raining the day we went we were still able to sit outside because they had umbrellas. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the rain without getting wet. We will defiantly be returning to try their brunch again!
I went into the Working Title Kitchen for lunch with a relative who is vegan. We were impressed by the ambiance and decor. The staff looked happy . Unfortunately, there wasn't a single vegan option available and the chef told the serving staff they wouldn't accommodate or create anything vegan for my relative. As such, we were turned away and left without eating or trying anything. This was obviously a poor customer experience.
Delicious food and a nice space. It's loud, but manageable. The food is fun and different, we were there for brunch which was delicious and overall very happy with our meal and flavours. Great beer on tap! Dominion City : Server unfortunately hurt our experience. It took us 20-25 minutes for us to get our bill after he cleared our plates and confirmed we were finished. My mom was excited to get herself a coffee after our meal but didn't get the opportunity. He was missing for most of that time and then walked by us multiple times while we tried to get his attention. He also walked to another server at the bar with a knife, sharp end up, which we thought was rather unprofessional. An establishment that hires young, probably new, servers so hopefully they learn and this review is no longer needed. It's a convenient spot, and there are not a lot of comparable restaurants in Sandy Hill, but I had expected to leave the meal much happier than I did. Brunch was $22 each and we spent nearly $90 for the 2 of us.
I have such mixed feelings about this place. I really want it to succeed — it’s a great neighbourhood spot I live nearby with a fantastic patio. But I feel like when wedding season ramps up, this cafe and resto gets neglected a bit because this resto is part of a larger building that does events. First, the cafe — it’s counter service in the mornings, and you can buy a coffee and a pastry and sit wherever you like. The coffee is just ok, but the pastries are really excellent. For the dinner service and brunch and lunch too, things fall apart a bit. I am very sympathetic to staff shortages these days so I try to take longer waits in stride. But we’ve been outright overlooked multiple times while trying to dine here — like staff just walking right by us, no one even bothering to say “I’ll be with you soon”. Food wise, the dinner menu always feels too heavy, and attempting to be too upscale, for the season. The place has the feel of a casual neighborhood spot, but the food does not match. I really want this to be my neighborhood spot, but I can’t afford to eat here very often. Sometimes there’s a burger on the menu and sometimes there’s mostly $34 entrees. And the food itself is good, but if I’m going out for a $34 main dish then I’m going to go somewhere a little more well known for their gastronomy instead, not this restaurant with a casual cafe feel and not-great service. I do appreciate, however, that they’re attempting to do more casual snacks and drinks in a back room, with live music. That feels more approachable. Like I said, I really want this place to succeed. For now I have very mixed feelings. I hope they’re able to develop more of a solid identity instead of trying to be too many things.
This place was fantastic, from the atmosphere to the quality of the dishes served!!! Thank you Amelia and Karim for your stellar customer service and warm welcome. My girlfriends and I enjoyed a beautiful evening with Julio's amazingly talented band playing, savoured very exotic dishes and great wine!!! We will come back soon to try your brunch and can't wait for another fantastic musical evening!! Again, a very special shout out to Karim and Amalia for their excellent service, we felt we knew each other gor years!!! Keep it up guys, you and that place have extreme potential, see you all soon!
Wonderful place for brunch, the food is delicious and so beautifully plated too the quiche was so creamy and to die for! Great servers too, so friendly and made the whole experience so fun!
The only 1 out of 5 star I am giving is for the coffee and pastries we had this morning. I and my family came in at 8:30 ish for brunch but unfortunately we were told that brunch would not start until 10AM so we ordered coffee, hot chocolate, croissants and apple turnover which taste delicious. I asked the lady staff if we were able to stay until 10AM to order brunch and she confirmed that it would be okay. We stayed until 9:50AM and came in to ask if we can order the brunch ahead of time and another lady just asked one staff if they were fully booked and he said yes??? This is where I do not understand. Why would you only look if you have any vacancy after you let the customers wait for 1 hour +? Why are your staffs not trained enough that they say different things to customers? When I asked the staff this same question she just said sorry in a way as if it is not the big deal and she said she only knew the restaurant was fully booked then? Please train your staffs and their attitude. We had to wait for an hour just because of the confirmation they gave that we would be able to get in for brunch when we could have spent our time some where else. We are visitors in Ottawa and the staffs truly disappointed us. My mom loves the croissants and wanted to get few more to bring home but the staff attitude just turn me off and we do not want to get anything else. If your food is great but the customer service is not up to standard then you are losing your customers and reputation.
