Rideau Bakery

I tried my first butter tart here and I have no regrets. The staff is very friendly and warm. The bakery has a great selection of both bread and desserts. The Rideau Bakery feels very local and independent and has so much character!

donuts are always fresh, reasonable prices, fruit filled pastries are the best. Little to no selection of loafs and breakfast cakes.

Stopped by and bought a loaf of their rye bread. Wow. It is very good indeed! All the hype is true. And I got tempted by their "cronuts" and had one. Absolutely no regret. Very friendly service too. If you've never tried this place, you really should.

The best thing about living in Ottawa is the Rideau Bakery. I stop in a couple times a week for rye bread, deserts best donuts in town, sorry Suzy Q and sometimes breakfast at the counter. They keep a kosher kitchen so you won't get any bacon with your eggs there but they make a great plate of potato hash!

Everything here is delicious! I always leave wishing I could have bought one of everything. Their staff here are great, and breakfast here is very enjoyable. Prices are very fair and service is fast. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Great donut and coffee. Boston creme yeasted fresh made the old fashioned way, you can smell the nicely baked dough. Chocolate fudge topping, cream filling just perfect to taste and not too sweet. Nice coffee too. $3.30 for both can’t beat that.

This is my favourite store in Ottawa. I especially love their rye bread, cinnamon croissants and pecan slices. My kids rate the doughnuts highly. I've never yet stopped for coffee, but the breakfast and lunch counter looks very inviting.
