Friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious burger and fries! The first time I came to Woodshed, the kitchen was unusually busy. I eventually had to leave empty-handed without my take-out order. I do believe in second chances, so I came back and dined in for a Juicy Lucy and fries. The burger was a delicious, juicy mess in a good way, as I expected, so long as you don’t mind drippy fingers and the fries were decently crispy. I’d go back and would recommend Woodshed to others. If you’re a customer, I suggest you ask how long the wait will be, and then ask again for a realistic answer. For the friendly staff, please don’t be afraid to tell customers it might be a really long wait. Good customers will come back.
Thissss place is SO damn delicious! Went here on a whim with a friend and boy were we glad! Very unique burgers and the onion rings were superb as well as the bulgogi fries daily special. We wanted to share our burgers so they even split it in half for us! Definitely will return!
I stopped in here for lunch recently. The staff were friendly and the lady who served me was very pleasant. I ordered a cheese burger with fries and a milk shake. The cheese burger was nice, could have used some mayo or ketchup as it felt a bit dry. Though still nice bun and lettuce. The milk shake was nice, good chocolate taste to it and good portion size. The fries were bad, they were over cooked and poorly seasoned. I had to coat them in ketchup as much as possible to get down the ones i could. Once out of ketchup I abandoned the rest. Very disappointing.
1st time had the juicy Lucy very tasty and flavorful. Beer batter onion rings and hand cut fries. Easy going staff and has a great atmosphere. Rolled up the garage door and let the breeze in. Perfect. Would have again.
Well....if I'm being honest, I think they put a little too much faith in the quality of their fresh ground daily beef with no fillers. I had the Juicy Lucy and added an extra patty. It was a decent burger, but even a little salt and pepper would've leveled it up a tonne. My burger tasted a little bland. As for the Onion Rings, those should sit for a minute before they get served. They hold waaaay too much oil because the batter turns into a giant fried sponge. Bottom of my tray was just a pool of hot oil and every bite had oil squishing through my teeth. Didn't feel like having a beer and getting bloated so I had a Grizzly Paw Black Cherry Soda....definitely didn't get bloated, the pop was flat right out the can. Maybe it was that batch May 2022 or maybe it was because I poured into a glass with ice. I've had this pop before though and it's never that flat. 7 out of 10 at best. The fresh baked Bon Ton bun made it a 7 otherwise it would be a 6 in my books. I guess for $37 after tip, I kinda think it should rock my socks and it really didn't. It looked amazing but unfortunately it's not a burger that I'm going to run around talking about!
Totally, totally loved this spot when I went in a couple weeks ago. The food was absolutely incredible, I had their burger special and I'm still thinking about the whole thing. My mom had the turkey burger and she loved it too. Beyond just the food, the experience was great. There was a large group in but it was still quiet enough to talk, and the staff were awesome. Not in Edmonton much, but will definitely be eating here again.
Hands down the best burger I've had in the edmonton area. Fresh local ingredients, handmade in house sauces down to the ketchup, variety, absolutely fantastic staff. A talented and well trained head chef and owner. All for a cost not much higher than A and W.
My grandfather’s only request for his 67th birthday was to have a good burger, after endlessly looking through reviews I settled on here. We had a great first time! The burgers were amazing!! The fries and coleslaw we’re just the cherry on top! The staff was kind and the atmosphere was very cool. He had the biggest smile on his face after we finished. Thank you so much guys!
I've been here a few times & they make an excellent burger. What brought me back was a "CHOP CHEESE" the woodshed version of the infamous "Chopped Cheese" sandwich of bodegas in NYC. This version was very tasty. You see, you season a burger patty & start cooking it, then when you flip it, you chop it up & add cheese. So rather than those flavourful crispy mallard reaction flavours on just 2 sides of the party, you get a bunch of smaller & varied prices of beer with those flavours on 'em. Ultimo, more small prices, more surface area, for flavour. They used a garlic mayo which I really enjoyed, plus tomato & lettuce on the bun. My only feedback is wrapping the sandwich and then slicing in half to serve. It mashes & melds all of the flavour together plus gives a steaminess to the bun. The woodshed bun is one of the best in the city BTW. And it holds those crumbled pieces in place. Anywho, well done Woodshed, I hope you bring this feature back, or, just keep it on the menu. No one else is doing this style of burger/sandwich, to my knowledge, in the city. Cheers!
We ordered the Juicy Lucy, the Woodshed and I had the Colonel Chicken. The chicken was so thin and dry with way too much breading, it looked nothing like the pictures online. The Lucy and Woodshed were well received though nothing to write home about. Everyone in our party felt the burgers were overpriced, if they came with a side it would be more in line with other places. Wouldn't come back.
