Story

The mission of the Wood County Health District is to work to "take the initiative to facilitate opportunities for Wood County residents to lead healthy lives." Created in 1920, the Wood County Health District has a long history of protecting its citizens. Today it serves more than 120,000 Wood County residents. Guided by 11 Board of Health Members, the Health Commissioner and the employees of Wood County Health District operate on a $4,200,000 annual budget.

If you are insured I would not suggest going here. My husband went here and had to wait 30 minutes past his scheduled time of appointment. They also ask a million questions on top of the 4 pages of paper work he filled out. I had scheduled an appointment here and when I went in for it the girl at the desk said my appointment wasn't until the next month. Whoever I spoke with on the phone to originally schedule had put it in their system on the wrong day. I had left work to go to this appointment. It was completely ridiculous. Once my husband went and told me how awful it was I cancelled my appointment and found a different doctor. I got in no problem, had one a couple sheets of paper work and didn't have to answer a ton of questions past that. Like I said if you have insurance or if you can afford your out of pocket for a doctor go anywhere else but here.

In 2007 I was in a rough spot in life. No insurance, just graduated college, some medical issues to take of, recently unemployed, nothing was going right. They were so kind and helpful. To this day it was the best healthcare I have ever had! Thank you all for being there when I needed it.
