I never write bad reviews but this was SO awful for me from Finchel/ Wisconsin lighting.
I ordered (2) 24” tall shades that required a 10” attachment drop as the lamp harps were 14” tall. That’s the max you can get. I wanted to have them made using my own custom fabric. I called their customer service prior to ordering the fabric giving her the future shade measurements, and she told me I needed 2 yards. So i custom ordered 2 yds., and waited 2 weeks for that to arrive before actually ordering the shades. The fabric cost $61.68. The day after I placed the order, I get an email stating that I should send them double the amount of fabric required in case they make a mistake. Really? I did not have that so sent them the fabric I had with a personal note asking them to be EXTREMELY careful. The floor lamps I intended to dress cost over $500.00! I am not an extravagant person. This was so “over the top” for me, but I was excited to have these pieces in my home.
I see they have posted a photo of my shades on their Facebook page prior to my receiving them. Probably because the fabric was so beautiful. I couldn’t believe they posted a picture without my consent as I really wanted to create “one of a kind” lamps. Free promo ad for their company. I also see in those pictures that the lamps do not have a 10” attachment drop.
Sure enough, they arrive on a Saturday, and there is no attachment drop. Non-usable. Wasted fabric. $333.00 total cost down the drain. Plus my time and 3 gasoline trips. I cried when I opened the first box. I did not open the second shade box. I e-mailed customer service that evening.
I received an e-mail from Todd, owner of company, that night stating he would get back to me on Monday. He did not. Another lady there, called me telling me to re-pack the shades, and that Fed-Ex would pick them up on Tuesday. That they would fix the shades with correct attachment drop. I asked her if they would give me a discount, and she said, “NO”. I could not believe that I had zero options here.
The fabric was glued all the way around a circular wire. I was not comfortable that they could remove this glued fabric and make it right. I had already trusted them the first time. She said I could speak to the owner, Todd. He got on the phone. He was awful. Never apologized, never offered me any compensation, told me I should have sent them double custom order fabric so they could have waste. I tried to explain to him that was not known to me until after the fact, but he kept interrupting me.
He even asked me if I thought he should be ‘spanked”. To that, I replied, “YES”, and then he hung up on me. It was so non-professional. i had no voice in my $333.00 spent, and lost.
Be aware that there are no satisfaction guarantees with this company. You use them at a high risk. Todd told me there were 3 inspections on this order before it was sent out. I do not believe that 3 people did not catch the error. And Todd? He needs to attend a customer etiquette seminar. He was absolutely horrible as was the entire experience.
I did get a partial refund in the end, but would never recommend Todd, and this company to anybody! Buyer Beware! You have zero recourse on a non satisfactory, very expensive product.
