Winona's Family Restaurant

Three of us stopped by this place on the way to visit family. Person 1 got the senior battered fish, 2&3 both had the all you can eat battered fish. All three dishes came with corn, which appeared canned. 2&3 also got salad. The lettuce was iceberg. It was fresh, but only came with a tomato wedge and a cucumber slice. The senior fish dinner had 1 piece of fish, the all you can eat, 3 on each plate. I'm not sure if it's a regional thing, but the restaurant had no malt vinegar. The tarter sauce was good and the fish cooked, but the batter was soggy and the fries just done and still white. We also used the restroom while there. Of the two stalls, one was out of order. In addition, one sink had no hot water. The waitress was friendly, and offered to make another batch of fish I could take home. We heard her offer to the table behind us, as well. All in all, it wasn't a bad place, but we've been to several other better restaurants in Winona.

Service was friendly and quick. Soups were very good. Carrot cake was great and Beer Battor Cod was delicious.

Classic Winona customer service. Every time I go there I am treated like I am bothering the staff. I have never had a polite service worker, and I try to act very polite. Either way, the food is pretty good, but the service keeps me away.

Well, we drove from lacrosse for breakfast seen the home cooking sign on front. Well far from home cooking. My eggs tasted like cleaner, and now not feeling very well..we went to pay and the hostess after my husband stated "No the food wasn't good" ..she replied with "BUMMER".. I guess college kids wouldn't mind, but otherwise not good at all...

Our waitress was Amanda and she was such a lovely young girl! She made sure we were enjoying our meals and that we were well taken care of! The food was amazing and we will certainly be going back. Great Job!
