Here's an expanded review for your visit to the Winnipeg Art Gallery:nn---nnI visited the Winnipeg Art Gallery on the second Sunday of the month, which offers free admission – a great opportunity to explore the gallery’s collections. The gallery itself is beautifully maintained, with a neat and safe environment that made the experience feel comfortable and inviting.nnThere was an impressive variety of pieces on display, spanning several genres, with each exhibit thoughtfully arranged to draw you into the artist’s world. For me, the stone-carved figures in the entryway were a standout. The intricate craftsmanship and expressive details in each sculpture were captivating and set the tone for the visit.nnThe highlight, however, was the Inuit art section. The level of artistry and craftsmanship in these works was simply breathtaking. Each piece told a story and reflected the beauty and depth of Inuit culture, offering an authentic and moving experience.nnThe gallery’s architecture is stunning, both inside and out. It even has a lovely rooftop area that adds a unique touch to the visit – a great spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Amazing gallery, enjoyed the range of art. The Inuit collection is incredible, brought me to tears. Very inspirational. European collection was small but the pieces were worth seeing and well chosen. A few group of seven which is always a must. Don’t take the elevator or you will miss the beautiful exhibition in between floors. Will come back, staff was incredible, the coffee shop makes the best latte I’ve tasted in a while. Visiting from Ontario, don’t miss this museum.
We were booked by a bride and groom this past weekend to capture some fun memories with our Photo Booth.nThe WAG is an incredibly beautiful venue for any event but the wedding set-up was so amazing!nThere was a bit of an issue with our area we were to set-up in but Tessa was so helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to assist us to make sure we would be up and running in time. Our 1.5 hour set-up and 2 hour run time turned into a 9 hour day usually this would annoy us but honestly Tessa and her staff were so good that we accepted the inconvenience.nThe evening was beautiful, romantic and in my opinion a dream!nAs we started we had a few unexpected issues with the lighting in the area we were set-up and the lady working that evening was incredible at helping us to come up with a work around. She continued to check on us through out the night and was also amazing.nnMany of the issues that we had were due to our first time setting up at the venue and both the venue and us not knowing the space/set-up. I would 100 percent recommend this venue for any event. Not only is the WAG an exceptional venue the staff are over the top helpful, friendly and a pleasure to work with!!
The Winnipeg Art Gallery WAG is a must-visit for art lovers, featuring a remarkable collection of Canadian, Indigenous, and Inuit art. The new Qaumajuq Inuit Art Centre is especially stunning, with beautifully displayed carvings and prints. The gallery's architecture, rotating exhibits, and rooftop sculpture garden make it a memorable cultural experience.
We went in Friday November 9th and there was an excellent crafters/ vendors fair on so admission was only $10.00.nThese venders were artisans though- I mean really beautiful high end creations- and you wouldn’t find them selling at flea markets.nnThe best gallery that was still wide open despite the fair was the Inuit art / sculpture gallery. It was wonderful and we spent hours there.
