Great place to visit. Great lake. Awesome people.Location: 5/5
I recently stayed there while attending a high school reunion. The cabins are rustic and comfortable & the view of the lake is outstanding. We had a lakeside cabin. wonderful location out I must say in the middle of nowhere. But that was part of the charm. It is a combination rental cabin and RV campsite. We stayed in one of the cabins and the accommodations were quite satisfactory. There is a restaurant bar combo on site that served excellent farm fresh wonderfully prepared meals at very reasonable prices. I must make it a point to give a shout out to the service I received from everyone I encountered including the owner Pam. These people made you feel welcome. That kind of stuff makes a difference when people are truly just being nice. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely stay there again if I'm ever in that part of the country.
I may be rating slightly higher here because it was a great evening for me completely unrelated to the dining, but I was impressed! Fries were crunchy and very tasty, my burger was excellent juicy, spicy, delicious, and portions were enough to not leave you wanting more, but also not "quantity over quality". Long story short, get the jalapeño poppers and burger if you actually like spice they have a kick, but everyone said the food was delicious!
Great food and excellent service. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful lake views. We have and will continue to stop in on our way through. Keep up the great work.
We visit Winjums regularly. My husband has been relatively satisfied with the prime rib. He has learned to accept it won't be cooked as he orders. The rest of their menu is good though, especially fish. They also do a super creative I've job with vegetable options. A unique food is in their popovers instead of bread.Rooms: 3/5
Great service!!! I wish I would have gotten her name! we were a group of 10 sat at 2 tables, of course, following the rules! My pasta wasn't great, it was dry, but I'm sure this isn't their normal. Everyone else loved their meals & they looked delicious! Appetizers were yummy! There is obviously a great chef behind the door! Back to the service, it was so great that it didn't matter that my food wasn't awesome, I will return because the service was that great!
They must have gotten a new cook since the last time we were there. We used to go here as a family ever since I was little. We moved out of town and decided to come back for a visit and the food was lacking. We ordered a chicken sandwich and got one chicken tender between two buns which we were able to compare with someone else at the table that ordered the chicken tender platter and they were hardly breaded. Same chicken. For being "world famous" they could have been better. I've always gotten the apple crisp dessert at the end of my meal and even that was a disappointment. It came out in a bowl that looked like everything was put in the microwave. Another downfall was the loud music coming from the kitchen. It almost sounded like somebody was throwing a quinceanera back there. Appetizers were great but all they had to do is put them in a deep fryer as we ordered wontons and cheese curds. We'll be back but hopefully the food's better next time.
The food has been good each of the three times we've eaten there. We had beer-battered fish and turkey club. Both "dishes" were fresh, tasty and we would get them again. Friday night is all-you-eat fish and Winjum's offers pan-fried, battered and broiled. We have tried each and we would order each again. Good service, reasonably priced food and a really nice lake view. Add it to your list of restaurants to take visitors.
Winjum’s food used to be good but since their 2021 reopening, it is fantastic! So many new and unique choices on the menu, we had a hard time deciding. Their loaded Bloody Mary was great with tasty snacks on top but not so many that it was at risk for falling over. Korean BBQ tacos had great flavor and the meat was so tender. Winjum’s will now be our regular go-to place to eat.
First time here and not sure we will ever come back... I honestly felt so bad for our waitress. Bartenders couldn't make a simple drink, kitchen messed up literally every single person's order. Basically the bartenders did not know basic drink recipes, cooks couldn't make anything, and to hit the trifecta never even had a manager stop by our table. Only saving grace was how sorry and sincere the waitress was.
