This is a great spot! The river is clean and easily accessible. The bathrooms are clean but don’t have hand sanitizer or water to wash your hands. The campsites are mostly gravel which aren’t ideal for tents but with a sleeping pad they are fine. The site is clean and well organised. It is 25$ per unit which doesn’t seem fair. Makes you want to bring an 8 person tent over two 4 person tents. It’s a bit silly I think.
What started off a good camping weekend sadly ended in a bad note! We have camped here once before and had a great weekend! This weekend was terrible! Too many partiers! Not a care for others. Loud music and foul language until a 2:30am. We left a day early and were sadly disappointed that there were no patrols after dark!
This is one of our preferred campgrounds for a weekend escape. Bit worried about reviewing this out of they way gem, as I would hate for the word to get out kinda want to keep it to myself. It is a no service campground. It is down in the Willow Creek valley with the creek running through it. Firepits at each site, outhouses for you know what. I only marked it a 4 as although there are water taps there, it is not potable water, it is good enough for washing etc.
Was there for the day mid September. Nice and quiet. Well maintained. Lots to see and do, will go back!!
We had lovely spot right by the creek and the bridge it was really windy on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday was beautiful! Did not even try to put up the awning on our 5th wheel. Lovely park with clean bathrooms, garbage and recycling bins. $25.00 per night. Very reasonable rate. Very quiet. We spent 3 nights. There is a swim area at your own riskand a playground. Would camp there again. Just be aware, by Wednesday night there were no sites left. Apparently, this is the norm for all campgrounds in Alberta. These sites, with the exception of 2 which are permanently occupied are first come, first serve. Stavely Elks are doing a marvelous job with the three campgrounds in the are they are managing! Thank you.
Nice campground with no hookups, there is water stations for washing but not drinking water. The playground is small and lacking equipment like swings for example. The swimming area is nice with a sandy beach and day use area with a covered cook house/shack if the weather turns unfavorable. If the creek isn't to your liking to swim in pine coulee reservoir is only a few minutes away. All in all we enjoy this little jem of a campground and will be returning
Every experience is amazing. One of my favourite campgrounds close to Calgary, so a last minute getaway is easy. We've had both individual sitesfirst come first serve and group sites; RV's and tents. No complaints with booking the group site. The swimming hole is quite refreshing, you'll be lucky if you grab a site along the creek! CLEAN bathrooms!
A good place to stay for a week vacation. It has a creek which runs a sort of "S" curve through the whole campground which you can tube down so long as the water is high enough, it has a hiking trail it's a bit short, however. It also has a large, open area for group camping which 3-4 full-size campers could fit in. The group camping spot, however, does not have any shaded areas. Most other camping spots are quite nicely shaded though.
Great place for bird watching. Clean, quiet Campground.
Lovely family Campground with plenty of shady spots, complete with watering hole. Very kid friendly.
