Just what the doctor orders. Peace and quiet for two days. Room clean with plenty of coffee to make. Microwave to use for home made soup we brought along. Perfect two days.

Wildflower Cottages is a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. The bathroom sparkled. Even had coffee pot and hair dryer. The community fire pit was the perfect backdrop for my honey and I to have the conversation of our life. Not only is the fire pit large, there was also kindle and wood for burning. I highly recommend the Wildflower Cottages as a great spot to stay and I know it is a warm place where memories are born.

Came here for out one year anniversary and just celebrated our 10 year here. Nice place but it wasn't as clean this time around. Bed had hair in it but spoke to the desk and sheets were changed.

So, so disappointed. We just spent 2 days in Cabin 1 at the WILD FLOWER COTTAGES in Pequot Lakes, MN in July, 2016. We owned a Cabin on Lake Bertha, and recently sold it. For years we admired these quaint little cottages and lush grounds. We hadn't seen Wild Flower Cottages for several years. And because we were planning an annual couples weekend in Pequot Lakes, we decided to stay here, rather then the AmericInn. Worst decision and so disappointed. The pictures featured on their web site are completely deceiving. They feature lush gardens full of flowers. What we found was an overgrown mess, with not a flower to be found. Parts of artificial Christmas trees scattered around here and there. At least one with the top missing. Empty birdfeeders, bird droppings on every flat surface and weeds taking over any flower gardens that may have once thrived here. There was a stone patio right outside our door with an iron table and 2 chairs. However, they were so dirty and covered with bird droppings. There were so many pine needles on the patio, and on the rug in front of the door, that you couldn't help tracking them into the cabin. It was pretty obvious to us, that NO attempt was made to clean this area prior to our arrival. Even though we made the reservation in March. Hoping we would find this little doll house when we opened the door, I almost cried at what we found. And it looked NOTHING like the photos featured on their web site! We decided we would make the best of what we found, rather the complain. But things only got worse. I started to unpack our suitcases and there wasn't a single hanger in the room. But there was a broom. No iron and no ironing board. And even tho' their add states Free Breakfast on the weekend, that never happened. We did get free WiFi however. Then came our first night in that huge King bed. I couldn't understand what the 'hard object' right in the middle of the bed was, and every time one of turned over, we hit this 'thing'. It was apparently something used to create a King bed out of two Twin beds. I would guess in a proper use of this thing, a mattress pad or something is placed over the object to make it comfortable. Well, not here! Then came our first shower. We were pleasantly surprised to find two of the nicest, plushest towels we have ever used. And a bath mat to match. Ahhh, perfection! Well, not so fast. I splashed some water on the floor at the foot of the bed. So I grabbed some toilet paper to wipe it up. It was then I realized that when I wiped up the water, the toilet paper was dirty! I looked at the bottom of my feet and realized they too were dirty, in spite of my recent shower! It must be pretty obvious to anyone with the patience of Jobe, for having read this diatribe, that we were NOT happy campers. But the coup de gras was yet to come. After loading up our car, I asked my husband to make a final sweep of the room and bath to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything. He walked to the open door holding a white object in his hand and stated, this is yours right? What he held looked to be either a man's wife beater t-shirt or a woman's Nighty. I said no that is not mine, where did you find it. His answer was: "under the bed"! In all my years of extensive travel, I have NEVER written a Review either good or bad. But I simply could not bear the thought that another unsuspecting couple, would be enamored by the beautiful photos and description of what may have once been, a very pretty romantic place to stay. PLEASE, look somewhere else for your accomodations! Unless some seriour changes are made, you are better off in a tent... Happy Tavels and please do your homework better the we did.
